Henne’s interceptions, Ricky Williams’ fumbles and the Dolphins’ general carelessness with the football might be the biggest difference from the 2008 AFC East champions. (Injuries and a harder schedule haven’t helped, either.)

Through 14 games last year, no team limited turnovers as well as the Dolphins. They gave the ball away just 10 times (four fumbles and six interceptions) while forcing 22 turnovers.

This year, the Dolphins are 25th in the NFL in turnover margin, having turned the ball over 25 times (10 fumbles and 15 interceptions) while forcing only 18 turnovers.

That’s a dropoff in turnover margin from +12 at this time last year to -7 with two games left this season.

I would call it lack of Ronnie and Patrick. Lets face it MIA would rather not throw it 40 times a game but they also know that Ricky can no longer run it 30 times a game especially if he is having to pound it against 8-9 man fronts. So what are their options. Their only real option is to have Henne thrown it which is going to produce some turnovers. Last year Chad #1 was only throwing it 20-25 times with Ricky and Ronnie running it 40-45 times a game against lesser competition. That is the formula that this team would like to use. When they went up against BALT in the playoffs they had to throw it once they got behind and we know how that turned out. No different this year.

Turnovers are the thing that have really killed us..It makes it worse when you do it against a good team...

We have been doing it against good teams..We were fortunate that the jags did not capatalize on them..As well as the Titans..

We have not forced as many turnovers this year either...I attribute that to lack of pass rush..

Defenses who are on pace to give up 400 points on the season usually don't create turnovers.

These guys on defense spent over half the season trying to learn how to tackle and cover, nevermind learning how to create turnovers.

I understand what your trying to say here but i think more goes into then just throwing more or running more...

I feel like Henne is a very good qb and has made alot of plays with his arm...The problem is Turnovers..You cant turn it over in the redzone period...We got down early to the Titans because of our D...Then when were down in their redzone we either turned it over or had to settle for FG's which was pretty much the same thign that happend in the MIA game...

Henne has to learn to be patient..but even if we had Ronnie or Patrick I dont think they would still be running as much...We have Lex and to say he is as good as Ronnie is stupid but he is decent and good take 7 to 10 carries a game IMO.

We need to take care of the ball that is our first priority..2nd is stopping the other team...cant get behind on teams...Even tho we did fight back from 14 to 0 against the Pats and Titans..I really like our chances of making the playoffs...

Then if we get in anything can happen..I would love to meet Cincy first round

Giving up points and creating Turnovers could go hand in hand tho...

Taking chances can create turnovers...but you risk coverage on the back end if the rush does not get there..

I think we are maybe blitzing too much..but even when we rush 4 we have been getting burned...

So i def agree with your statement..Poor tackling really erks me...But there has been multiple times this year where we have been in good coverage and just have not made a play on the ball or there was lack of communication.

Seriously, besides Vontae we have guys unable to intercept passes, and very rarely are guys in POSITION to pick off those passes. I don't know the status of Will Allen but I really think we should grab a veteran cornerback in the offseason if he isn't healed.

Nah.. Look at the defenses who give up 400 pts every year.. They are at the bottom of the list when it comes to creating turnovers.

it goes hand in hand most of the time.

If Sparano calls the turnovers "ridiculous" can Chad Henne or Ricky Williams call Sparano's decision making during the course of game play ridiculous? Would just seem fair to me.

Yea I agree. Vontae as well as Wake look like they are the only playmakers on our defense. YB has stone hands and Gibril Wilson is just garbage he needs to go. The jury is still out on Smith. But I agree we need a veteran next season only if Will Allen isnt back. Which he most likely will be.

I am sure he does not blame them..I dont..

We win and lose as a team..As well as turnover the ball as a team

Yea but you do agree then when you take chances its risk vs reward...
