Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano showed some impatience with his 14th-ranked passing offense, even though his new quarterback and young receiving corps are still figuring each other out.

"It might be a season-long process, but we don't have all season to wait for it," Sparano said. "We need to speed that process up."

The Dolphins are one of only six teams in the NFL that hasn't completed a pass 25 yards or longer and the team average of 3.1 yards after the catch is 30th in the league.

"I need someone to step up and make a big play," Sparano said. "I'm hoping to see some of our receivers step up, make a big play, break a tackle, run after the catch."

Just maybe if the ball wasn't fluttering through the air they would have time to pull it in and make a football move... just maybe.

whether its fluttering or not, getting ginn the ball on a 10 yard in route, or a slant could easily be thrown by pennington and give him the time you speak of.

Getting better, Tony...Getting better. This is the kind of thing I was expecting to hear earlier in the week. I hope he continues to add pressure if things continue to fail. Slowly but surely, I'm seeing the signals of a coach that's going to start going to give leather rectal exams. He needs to. Two thumbs up to Tony in as many days. I feel giddy.

Maybe he was reading my posts

:hello:

is about time he began calling people out.. and the truth is I would not mind more than a 'challenge' , how about a little: Insert boot in a**!

Good job Tony. Maybe you should have them on the field a little more too.

It's hard for Wilford to do anything when he was inactive during week 1. What the hell? It's like saying....You need to show me something in a game before I'm going to let you play.

It's like a college student with no experience. Companies want people with experience, but how are people supposed to get it experience if nobody gives them a job?

If you want players to produce, start giving them more oppurtunities.

Wilford - inactive for first game
Ginn - where was he on alot of plays?
Brown - 10 carries/game?
Williams - 10 carries/game?

He needs to challenge himself and the coaching staff. I guess he hasn't looked in the mirror lately. So far I am not impressed with this guy at all. He should blame himself and then others. Great coaches always start by looking at themselves and taking full responsibility, then disecting the rest of the team.

Which Ginn, Jr. has had thrown to him, but he bailed on the route, let the CB beat him to the spot without a fight and it almost led to an interception.

The WRs are a bigger problem than Pennington.

Pennington's shortcomings go away with proper execution.

32 teams have 32 different starting QBs. Not all are Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, yet they manage to win with what they have.

Coaching is not about wishing you had better talent. Coaching is about playing within your players talents. The coaches have been trying to do this. Sparano is trying to get his WRs to play football.

He's going about this the right way. Execution is more important than talent. It is proven time and time again in the NFL.

When the WRs execute, this team will move the ball and score.

Pennington is exactly what we need right now. His accuracy and long drives protect the young and over-matched pass defense by keeping them on the bench.

The game plan called for Pennington is tailored to his abilities. The WRs need to step up and help this team win. When they do, the running game will get better and Pennington's "in"abilities will fade away.

some of the guys we have a good complimentary pieces but with nobody to draw double teams it's tough for any of them to have favorable coverage.

Well it is a simple philosophy really, passing the ball better gets some defenders out of the box, with the defenders out of the box you hand off and run the ball up the field. Handing off and run the ball up the field sets up the play action pass, this intern creates balance on the offense. A statistic the Dolphins are lacking severely. If the ground game was ranked 12th and the passing game ranked 14th the dolphins will win numerous games because of the balance. If Boldin, Fitzgerald and Warner are not on the field last week they can not score points can they!

So basically, we went out and got Pennington, without the proper tools to be able to change the way we play to fit his style.

If Pennington can only throw short passes, we're going to need more phyical WRs. Why the hell did we pick up Pennington if we don't have a legitimate possession receiver?

The FO office knew what they had at WR. They KNEW their strengths and limitations. Then they went out and got a QB that is incapable of playing to the strengths that we already had on the team.

How many people are there on an offense? Why do we need to change everything to fit ONE guy, that wasn't even in the original plan? Clearly, the FO didn't think it through before bringing in CP.

Here's a better question. Why are we bringing in Pennington, who clearly doesn't mesh well with what little strength we did have. But at the same time, people like that we released L Booker and want Ginn released because they don't 'fit the system?'

When you aren't making any first downs there aren't many plays to go around. It's not like we have been ignoring these players. We just have to start moving the ball and getting longer offensive sets so we can get people more plays.

trade Ginn for a pick and get London going

time to turn another page from the horrible past

Beck and Ginn will be in the CFL this time next year
