Sparano during his press release commented on the increase of Penny's arm strength and commented how much his arm strength is criticised, but yet Penny is capable og making passes like that. I think this arm strength issue is way over blown.

DOLPHINS TIDBITS: Sparano and Pennington both feel that Pennington is ready for the regular season, with Sparano quick to point out how impressive that 54-yard pass to rookie Brian Hartline in Tampa on Thursday night was

I've been noticing his passes have had a lot more zip on them lately. Had a hunch it wasn't just me seeing that

I love Penny, but I am just not seeing it. He was running forward when he threw that pass, hardly impressive. Did you see the out pattern he threw before the half, that ball was in the air forever!!!!!!! As much as everyone wishes it was true, his arm is what it is, has been, and always will be. Fortuneately, so is his leadership and accuracy.

I guess Sparano is a dumb a$$ and a liar and is trying to pull the woolies over our eyes.

he's obviously pulled it over yours.

penny threw a dead ball pretty much against the bucs. guys were open the ball was late. in the air too darn long.

but henne was outright terrible.

I'm just glad you are not the Miami Dolphin Head Coach, stick to this buddy, just posting what the man said.

I was thinking that his decision making was slow.

god that's a lame response arcane.

i'm just glad we were playin the tampa bay bucs and not the pittsburgh steelers on those late arriving deliveries.

Ok, guess I am the only one. I'm sticking to it, I see more zip on his passes. He still can't make those out passes and stuff like that, but I swear I notice more velocity on his throws.

i saw that as well. on the ball to hartline that would have been a 1st down but hartline dropped it penny was late releasing the ball.

the thing with penny is he has to have his timing absolutely down. if not he doesn't possess enough arm to be even a smidgen late...and get away with it unlike so many other nfl qbs.

his timing was way off against the bucs and it exposed his arm even more.

Hey dude you have your mind made up, I see an improvement, not a big one but I see it. Penny threw a couple of nice passes in Tampa that I rarely see him throw. I dont care how long it takes to get there as long as he can complete a few to keep defenses honest, then he can play his game of picking defenses apart. I dont need to see aa canon arm to enjoy watching a smart QB pick apart a defense.

Arcane, what do you exspect him to say about Penny when asked about his arm? Ya, it's not very good, I wish it was better? "He can make every throw the team needs him to". Coach is doing what good coaches do, supporting the player. His arm is way below average and always will be, and yes that limits the O a bit. However, it doesn't limit it as much as a QB that can throw 80 yards but can't hit the side of a barn.

Love Penny, what he's meant to the team, his leadership, classiness, intelligence, accuracy and commitment to success.

...BUT, with all due respect, if there is any increase in arm strength and velocity (and I hope so), although maybe having a little more leverage, nevertheless his throws still look more like being launched by a catapult that won't ever be confused for even a small-bore cannon.

he really picked apart the bucs d huh..

what we need is hennes arm with pennys smarts timing and accuracy. then we'd really have something...and maybe could pick apart defenses.
