Sparano defends V. Davis

I would expect no less. Sparano isn't going to throw a rookie to the wolves for being immature and unprofessional...

By the way...link seems to be broken...

I don't really see how he's defending Davis, even when he says as much..

Coaches obviously view footage differently, and his comments reflect that.

I'm glad he doesn't throw anyone under the bus.

If he was going to throw anyone under a bus...it very well could be Allen and Green.

I'm sorry, but some FinHeaven members have already declared him a bust, I'll take their word over the actual coach of the team.

It's all nonsense. Davis has alot of talent. Guys on the team will straighten him out. He might make mistakes next preseason game but i bet he doesn't act goofy again, i hope.

from the morning blog this was an interesting note:

Punting out of the back of the end zone, Fields hit one punt to the other 15. Do the math.

That's just silly, the ball probably still has his foot indention on it.

Davis had some issue that's why he was still on the board and we were able to pick him. Lets give the staff and the vets some time to work on the kid and see what happens.

Davis has cover skills which we have not seen here in MANY A MOON.

Guaranteed that he is getting ripped by vets and coaches. That confidence and ego had to take a little step back. I look forward to seeing him play on Sat.

I recieved about a dozen phone calls Monday from hater friends because when I walked into this year's draft party, I opened the sliding glass door and yelled "PLEASE NO VONTAE DAVIS!"

Knuckleheadedness(?) runs in the family. Vernon has monster size and talent and it has taken him 4 years to begin to come around. Luckily Sparano is just as tough as Singletary. Only thing we can do is cross our fingers, hope, and root the youngster on.

Vontae on Monday showed that it's going to take some time with him. Not that he's a bust...just that it will take some patience and time. That is what he has demonstrated both in practice and the game - he's got the talent, but he needs to grow up and get his head straight. That won't happen overnight, but it will happen.

Smith is our man for this year, with some contributions from Vontae on nickel and ST. I think that might be the opposite from what some people were predicting, but it's still grand.

Bottom Line:

“If you start to see the same mistakes the guy made the previous week, then you have a problem.”

No more Mr. Bonehead Vontae...
