i know M Smith/J Fisher possible front runners, but considering where we have come from and the overhaul of the playing staff, i seriously believe sparano should be given the credit for the way he has turned the ream around, as opposed to most of credit going to Bill Parcells (who i also belv has done a superb job).

M Smith, outstanding job in Atlanta, but its always hit/miss with yng QB.

J Fisher, had a solid team last year coming into this year.

Sparano my coach of year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My personal choice is Zorn. After that, Sparano has recovered from a shakey start to place high.
Zorn is doing a good job, but coach of the year worthy? I am not real sure. Sparano took over a 1-15 team and right now has them at 6-4 and a good shot at making the playoffs. Jeff Fisher has a team 10-0 and they could potentially finish the year 16-0. Mike Smith took over a 4-12 team and now has them also in the playoff hunt. Coughlin and Fox are also doing great jobs with their teams.

The problem I have with Zorn getting the award is that he didn't take over a struggling team and really put his stamp on them by turning them around. He took over a 9-7 team coming off a trip to the playoffs. No doubt he has had a very good year so far, but has he really made that big of a difference? Sparano's impact has given this team 5 more wins then last year so far. Zorn's team is likely to finish with roughly the same record as last year's team.

I understand what you are saying. I'm not saying I'm right. I have a man-crush on Zorn back from when he was playing, so, my view is colored. I think we have to wait until the end of the year to give this award.

I think VERY highly of Sparano now that he's got his feet. I was VERY critical of him early and, I think he deserved it. He deserves high praise now.

Still a lot of football left to be played... I think right now it's a three-way race. Sparano, Fisher and Smith. If the Titans go undefeated and/or win the superbowl, I think Fisher wins it hands down. If not, I think it will be between Sparano and Smith... depending on who takes their team farther.. Harbaugh is also a wildcard if the Ravens get far into the playoffs.

A 9-7 team last year at 6-4 so far isn't that big of a deal. As a matter of fact, that's probably where the Redskins should be at this point. I see them finishing either 10-6 or 9-7, which compared to their season last year, isn't that big a step up.

Why would Mike Smith be a front runner over Tony Sparano when the Dolphins were worse last year and have the same records currently?

Shaky start? It took a Hail Mary from a living legend for the team currently leading the division to beat us in game one, and that almost wasn't enough.

We got trounced by the Cards, I'll give you that, but no way was a 1-15 team going to beat a team that can score from anywhere with damn near anyone.

I'm not going to re-hash the horrid job of having the team ready to play that took place in the first two games. I have NEVER in my LIFE seen two 12 man penalties in a single game. Never. Not even in High School. If you think that's solid, air tight coaching well, good for you. Also, it's not like that hail mary was a last second play. It was simply a duck that fluttered through the air in all it's Kubrickian glory while our entire secondary just decised to take the play off.
