Sparano is worried about lack of experience in Rb's.

and he keeps saying we're a "run first" type of team.
I guess those comments from Ricky really dug deep.

Im not concerned at all.. Backs are a dime a dozen. Ricky is OLD.. Barber is washed up. Johnson.. washed up too.

If our line can create holes.. any decent back could give you a better avg than what R&R did last year.

if runningbacks are a dime a dozen the how come in the history of the franchise we have had only one great back. Runningback is no easier than any other position to find.
I mean is wr a dime a dozen because brandon loyd had a great year or Mike Wallace or jennings from GB. when is the last time the dolphins had a back that every year u knew was going to rush for a 1000 yards like an Adrian peterson, Chris Johnson or Stephen jackson. Williams averaged 4.2 yards a carry last year and thats a pretty solid average higher than shonn Greene, Ray Rice, Mendenhall, Stephen Jackson and alot of other backs.

Yawn this gets so old! Do you even know football? Anyone with a half.decent football IQ knows you find your running backs in the later rounds!

That is assuming the FO can evaluate talent.

I think they just need some time to develop, Reggie probably needed a change of scenery anyways

as much as i want it to be daniel thomas who steps up, I look at lex hilliard, his playstyle, what he did in 2009, and what daboll did with hillis, and i see him becoming close to a feature back for us with daniel thomas as relief/insurance and bush as a speed compliment. remember hillis lead the league in receptions for runningback. those receptions will be spread out for us between charles clay, reggie bush, lex hilliard...

The Dolphins aren't winning the super bowl this year, so it makes a large degree of sense to continue to develop a young core for the future. They already did nicely it on the defensive side, and this season their focusing on the O.

This.

I am more worried about the lack of ability at the RB position. Reggie will be good for a few awesome plays a season, but I really don't think Daniel Thomas is going to be much more than a body there. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think our running game is going to be very good.

UGH. Come on. In his 2 years at K state he had almost 3000 rushing, a 5.2 ypc average and 30 TDs. No ability? Only a body? I think he is going to prove all the nay sayers wrong.

How many late round runningback picks are in the hall of fame. have we ever found a top runningback in the late rounds for Miami. The best back in Football is Adrian Peterson and second best is Chris Johnson. Arlan foster and Bradshaw have had one season of success so who knows how their career will turn out. Our philiosphy is draft all skill positions in later rounds

could be right but Many a back has had college success and not done squat in nfrl

I hope so, but there have been plenty of great college RBs that do nothing at the pro level. He just did not look that impressive at K state. Seems like the first tackler took him down too easy on a lot of plays and most of his big runs just came from huge holes. I could be wrong, and I hope I'm wrong, but he just did not impress me in college.

there are rbs out there to get tiki barber larry johnson and there will be others cut and with what we have now i think we will be ok at rb and imo i think thomas will be in great shape to carrie the load between him and hillard and bush we will be ok i just dont think we are in that bad of shape at rb

Its all about touches. Part of Reggie Bush agreeing to come here with a restructured contract was the FO promised hed be getting plenty of touches a game. Then you go and spend a high pick on another RB who needs to get his touches too.

Everyones mad because we didnt sign Ricky to touch the ball 3 times a game for 3 million dollars?

I loved Ricky as our RB too, but he simply didnt fit the picture for our team anymore.
