I cant say Ive been a tide fan long. Honestly, Im a Saban fan. But, I do root for the tide on the reg now and watch most of their games. If someone wants to call me a bandwagon, it dosent bother me. Im not allowed to root for the tide? would be my question to them. I didnt really have a college football team until Saban went back to Bama.
I grew up a Mountaineers fan, but I hated Rodriquez and that high school offense he ran from the day he arrived in Morgantown. I used to talk **** about him and all the Mountaineer fans hated me for it. Now they hate Rodriquez more than I ever did and thats only because he took his dick out of their mouths. They still love him deep down, thats why they hate him so much. They act like little *******.
But as I said, I grew up a big fan of them and went to college there, so of course I was a huge fan when we had Nehlen and Bulger at QB. I still watch most of their games, just not a big fan of their style of play. Maybe things will change with this new coach they have. Its just hard to watch because they never play anybody. Almost 80% of their games arent really contests. Not because of the scores, its just that there isnt much doubt as to who will win when before the game even starts. I cant get into that ****. Thats why I love SEC football. Its so competative. Its the next best thing to the NFL.
Most of the college football I watch is SEC games unless I gamble on a game. Thats really the best thing about college football.......gambling on it. Its so much easier to call than NFL. I dont even bet on the NFL anymore outside of the occasional pick em all or sometimes a very small wager on a primetime game. Every game is so close, almost every spread is 3, and one bounce of a ball can kill you. Youre just as well off playing a game of chance like blackjack. In college, with spreads so big, there is more margin for error on the part of the oddsmakers. You simply have to locate the games that they are off. If you follow what goes on, you can find them.
I do still love Mountaineer hoop however. The games are very entertaining and playing in the Big East provides great competition. But, Mountaineer football is wak. Most of the games I wouldnt go to if they gave me free tickets. Im sure as hell not paying $30 and more for a seat to go watch them play Syracuse, UConn, East Carolina, or some pathetic out of conference team they play. Get real. I wouldnt mind throwing down a few bucks to go watch when they play LSU this year in Morgantown. But, aside from that, there really arent any games on their schedule worth a ****. The Pitt game is intense every year, but they always play the day after Thanksgiving and I usually head out of town that week to a casino or a mountain retreat with the Mrs.
