Q. It seems like a lot of attention has been devoted to the offensive line in the early part of free agency. Re-signing Vernon Carey. Signing Joe Berger and Jake Grove. Explain the reasoning behind this and is the offensive line now set?

TS: Set? Never. But I think we've done a pretty good job to make a good dent in what we need to do there. When we came here there was no question in our minds that the interiors were an area that we wanted to hit hard. That being said, we're not there at all yet. We still have to go through a draft. We're getting close. I think the line will be improved. They played well at different times last year. But we need consistency.

I have been saying OL is still a position of need and it will most likely get targeted in the second day of the Draft. Miami has targeted Phil Loadholt, Herman Johnson, Louis Vasquez and Jason Watkins. This guys are 6-5 plus and over the 315's. Miami is gonna have one of the biggest line in NFL when all is set an done.

The best teams have the best front lines. Will be so nice to hear our name mentioned in the top lines in the NFL.

Well I see Miami adding a G/T prospect in this years draft and a guy like Paul Loadhol or Herman Johnson would really help this team.

i am thinking Duke Robinson is going to fall to us with our 2b pick and we will take him to play RG for us that would be awesome

If that happens it's been a long time coming.. I remember arguring about the lact of a Oline back in 2005...while everyone was talking about our skilled players.. To me without that good OLine, all the skill players in the world doesn't matter.

Man I have been preaching that the oline is still a need, but I have been getting a bunch of crap from guys saying we are set. Our line right now looks like this:

LT Jake Long, Brandon Frye ( He will be Cut)
LG Justin Smiley, Shawn Murphy ( Will stick if he shwos improve ment)
C Jake Grove, Joe Berger, Samson Satele ( Satele I think will be traded)
RG Thomas, Ndukwe ( had a solid season)
RT Carey, Turner ( More Uncertainty)

I want some of you guys to be honest we have no true back up for Carey or Long, Turner and Shawn Murphy are players we know nothing off, Satele is on the block believe me and Brandon Frye will get cut.

Basically the only depth we have is Berger and Ndukwe. If Satele were to stay he could backup at C, but the thing about Samson is this organization does not see him as the type of OLinemen they like. I think Miami will pickup a G/T in the line and try to bring some UDFA as well.

We're going to become a more power running team and I can't freaking wait!!! Bring on the draft.

Herman Johnson or Vasquez from Tech wouldn't be bad.

Since this is pretty much draft talk...I'm going to move it to the draft forum.

I couldnt agree more! Its about time we started getting this type of oline together.

I see two OT`s taken in the later rounds but if some top talent really fell then maybe someone earlier. I`d be pretty surprised that the starters aren`t set he has to mean the backups.

If we happen to take a CB 1st then we still need an OLB or two, an ILB, a WR and probably another CB.

Ideally the Fins can pick up a player who can play both Guard and Tackle. Fenuki Tupou is a guy I would have liked to have seen on the list mentioned.

I still say Kraig Urbik in round 3 if he is still available. He is 6'5, 330 lbs., strong, nasty drive blocker. The only reason he will slip to the 3rd is because he's not quick, but he is one heck of a phone booth operator.
