When Tony Sparano gave his Press Conferences during Training Camp I have to admit I was sold on him. But starting with the Rob Ninkovich release, I was starting to wonder if he really knows how to use his personnel. In week 1 against the Jets he has Patrick Cobbs in on 3rd down instead of Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams. His reasoning was that Cobbs was great at picking up blitzes. Now maybe because we are Dolphin fans we have seen more of Ricky and Ronnie more than he has over their careers but these 2 men are second to none when it comes to catching the ball and picking up blitzes. Ernest Wilford has more game experience than any of our WRs yet he was inactive for this game. Tony would rather go with undrafted Devon Bess and Greg Camarillo. This isn't pre-season you are not going to beat a team that is playing it's best players while you are playing 3rd string type players. In 2006
I compared Nick Saban to Steve Spurrier because I was starting to get some
bad vibes from him and many of you thought I was judging him too early. Last year after the Houston game I compared Cam Cameron to Rich Kotite
and many of you said it was pre-mature to say that. Well this year unless
Bill Parcells can get in this man's ear (and soon) I am comparing Tony Sparano to Marty Morninwig (Detroit) all talk but no ability.

Whoa big fella. Let's slow down the hate train to negative-ville. One game does not a season make.

Ask yourself: "Did I see an improved team from last year?"

Ask yourself that after every quarter you watch this year. Also, look for improvement from game to game. Look for these things and ask yourself these questions week to week and you will see that the doom and gloom may be getting smaller in that rear view mirror. :)

I dont agree with you on this one. I think he is sending messages, if you dont work hard and you dont earn it you dont play and I dont care if you are the six million dollar man. At least that is what I am hoping.

Just curious as to how many practices you attended in Davie.

Just like it was way too early to proclaim him the next Bill Cowher before he coached a game it's way too early to say bad things after just 1 game.

1 game doesnt not make a coach a bad hire. Remember this is his first go round. Look, anyone who expected to fire out of the gate 5-1 wasnt thinking rationally. We will be a much better team late in the year. Everything is new....everything. Relax. And Rob ninkovich.....come on if he was so good he would have made it impossible to cut him. We will be fine...have faith my brother.

We had a chance to win our opener last year, much like we did this year. Sorry, but you had to have been watching a different game if you saw a noticable improvement from last year. We played a HORRID Jets team to the wire last Sunday. We were held in check on offense, and much like our defense fared against Portis, we let a 2nd tier RB in Jones have his way. Instead of watching Zach make tackles 7 yards downfield we saw Crowder doing it. Our secondry that has gone through little to no turnover in 2 years looked as clueless as ever with the exception of Allen, and our WRs, amazingly, have regressed.

With the exception of a couple nice plays from the rookies and Matt Roth looking comfortable as an OLB, there was virtually no difference. Not saying that won't change, but the homers need to get it through their skull that last Sunday's game was anything BUT a sign of good things to come.

why does everyone here think that releasing Rob Ninkovich was such a big mistake??

quick question? how many teams put a waiver claim in for him? none.

but I'm sure that all these posters know more than all 32 general managers.

The PHINKING is stating his opinion, and backing it up with past nuances that he has been on the money with, let's give him some props for a proven track record, and see what happens in the future, I do see where he is coming from on his points.

Uh, 1 game bro, at least thats what I thought we played. Did i miss a few games from Sunday till now?

we picked ninkovich back up and hes on the practice squad if we need him i think, so thats first off. Secondly I thought davone bess was very exciting to watch and was getting doubled and even tripple teamed down by the goal line which helped us score that one touchdown to Fasano...plus he did great in the return game! I thought we did a great job except for two or three plays which would have totally changed the game which i blame Henning for down by the goal line, when we turned the ball over on downs because we passed on third and fourth goal. And for bretts lob to the endzone which the deffense was sleeping on which Tony himself cant really help. If you take those two situations and change them we win by 7 and maybe more because we would have changed the game plan to run the ball more and waste the clock so I guess its not all on the Head Coach. He doesnt do everything thats why we have offensive and deffensive coordinators that Parcells put trust in by hiring!
