Sparano worried about Thomas's blocking ability?

It doesn't, people who have a negative agenda read what they want and can turn a mole hill into a mountain.

He brings up a valid point. Tony Sparano himself says that Daniel Thomas did not block much in college. I've seen him do it sparingly at K-State, but when he did it, he seemed OK at it. Wildbill here says you don't trust a rookie to block anyway. Who, then, is going to block? Sending out every running back on patterns every down would be as stupid as when Chad Henne kept every running back in to block on downs in 2010. You have to have a mix and use the protections wisely. Who is going to block? Reggie Bush? Defensive players will have a fine laugh at that.

This is not something that just comes out of the blue from a person with an agenda. I heard John Clayton bringing up the very same thing on a radio interview where he said that it's very hard to figure out what the Dolphins are thinking.

Every head coach is worried about his rookie running back's ability to block.

Which AGAIN brings up the question, WHY is Reggie Bush the only other back on this roster that they want to play in the games?

You're not having Reggie Bush block for you. That means Daniel Thomas has to be the blocker. If you're worried about a rookie blocking then why did you set up t he backfield this way?

Because you're not paying ricky or ronnie good money to just block. Their job as a staff is to coach daniel thomas to read correctly when he's asked to stay in to block.

this is getting better as time goes on.

Tony sparano on what he saw in daniel thomas his first practice with the dolphins: In college you didn’t really see daniel block a whole lot, wasn’t really what he was asked to. That’s something that we got to get to the bottom of here a little bit fast.

so we have our "best elite player" jake long on the pup list, a feature back in the back field that can not block, and according to sparano, our offense is not polished.

Add chad henne, or matt moore = :puke:

shut the **** up

All the pressure is coming from the absent off season work. It's unfortunate, but what are you going to do. The problem isn't Thomas. It's the FO and the trade for Bush as the only other backfield option. But the same problem would probably exist if Sproles had been signed, instead. They will have to add another RB, one who is capable of understanding pro blocking assignments and has the necessary tools.

we have what 5 running backs on the roster? why is everyone just tossing reggie and DT as our only running backs?

He better learn in short time, we didnt trade for Reggie to block..........

Because Grigsby (?), Hilliard, and Sheets aren't real options. When it comes to picking up the blitz, I'd only trust Hilliard of those three.

Just saw where Vontea Leach was signed by the Ravens. Since he won't be resigned, the Dolphins might solve this problem by signing Le'ron McClain. I'm not sure how much he'd cost, but he'd be an upgrade over Hilliard. And Polite.

 no matter who we drafted a question of blocking on the "pro" level was gonna be an issue. Mark Ingram, Ryan Williams . . . there is a difference from college to pros. It comes with the territory. And to that effect, it always gets ignored that Ronnie Brown was a great back in pass protection but the only thing people focused on was his inability to break away big runs. Daniel Thomas has the size to be a Ronnie clone, I wouldn't worry about him having some early difficulties 3 days into what is a bootleg camp until the 4th, he'll get it.

Then who, pray tell, is going to block on the hundreds of plays that running backs are commonly asked to block for?

Reggie Bush? That'll certainly give blitzers and defensive linemen a laugh.

ummm maybe the rookie who has had all of 2 practices... Get a clue. Seriously your normally a good poster but some of your comments lately are a joke
