Yelling at Denney holding up two fingers after the second bad snap...going for it on 4th down at the end (99% chance most of our previous coaches would punt away)...smiling ever so briefly after the gatorade shower and then yelling at the guys to keep back b/c there was still one play.....showing passion and enthusiasm all while "Mangina" has a stoic look with his arms crossed....man I love this guy!

The play-calling might not always be perfect, but the intangibles that Sparano and the coaching staff brings to the table cannot be underestimated.

Our Schedule is going to be really tough next year BUT WHO CARES believe in now. I never thought this would happen at the beginning of the season and look where we are now. Believe in Now.

Sprano has done an excellent job at putting together an excellent coaching staff and leading a not very talented team into the playoffs after a miserable and forgettable season last year.

Here is the thing though, if the Dolphins make it deep into the playoffs and manage to get to the Super Bowl, I think the 2007 season will forever be remembered because the 08 team will always be associated as one of the best turnarounds ever.

i hope we can keep Coach Sparano as our HC for a long time...with the same kind of longevity that we had with Coach Shula....

I love his demeanor as well, and I know the players do too. He lets them know it when they screw up and gives them props when they do a good job. Seems like the guys we've had recently have had the wrong idea...Dave Wannstedt wanted to be everyone's buddy, Nick Saban liked to intimidate secretaries and Cam Cameron was part missionary and all milquetoast.

That would be so awesome, just not sure if it's possible in "today's NFL". But let's win a few SuperBowls first and then we'll see. :)

I loved his response after the gatorade shower. Joy for a split second than back to business. No doubt whats on his mind right now. I'm sure its not about the post game party.

Yeah and the Phins are a tough team to play and will be viewed as such on opposing teams schedules too.

Same difference

I'm a fan. He's won me over. Mrs Goon was commenting on his intensity all day....I was like....:err: at one point.

I absolutely loved when they showed him screaming with 2 fingers up. That is the kind of coach we need. I want one that the players fear and respect.

I Couldn't Wait To Get To Finheaven Tonight !

Man, what can you say..Listen, I have been a Dolphin fan since '71 and nothing was sweeter than this win today. Nothing ! I just despise the stupid Jets with all my heart, I really do. Its such a half *** organization, with all their stupid moves and their constant second rate management. I have lived my whole life approximately 35 minutes from Giants Stadium so all I hear on sports radio is the whining or (delusional hopes) of these sad sack Jet fans. They went down like the pile of garbage team they've always been today.
In spite of Dolphin mistakes and penalties, I could see by halftime the Dolphins were the best team on the field. This is the first Dolphin group of players that I have actually liked since the last Shula teams. The team is not a star driven mess its just a group of mostly young players playing in a system, held to a standard and playing to their own talent and strategic strenghts. They work a formula for success to be in position to win every game. Some of you guys have criticized them for winning close and some of the strategic decision but the Miami Dolphins are a tough minded well coached, tough "out" among NFL teams. Their play and their philosophies don't look like every other football team to me. I think Dolphin opponents have to reallly do their homework in preparation or they will be caught short against our team. They know how to finish. There is nothing flukey about what they have done. This Baltimore playoff game is a major hurdle, as it should be and we will learn even more next week, but I LOVE THIS TEAM ! Bye bye Jets and bye bye Pats !

Sparano really is everything you want a head coach to be. For one thing he really trusts and respects his coordinators. Sure Henning and Lee get all the credit for implementing the Wildcat offense, but Sparano still had to sign off on it i'm sure. It takes some cajones if you ask me to install such a "gimmicky" offense in what is largely a league completely devoid of any creativity.

I haven't been able to watch the fins on tv very much this year, but in the games i've caught Sparano's sideline demeanor really impressed me. He gets fired up when someone does something wrong, but is also one of the first to congratulate a job well done, which is exactly how a coach should act. Compare that with Mangini's lifeless, statuesque sideline behavior, and its easy to see why Jet fans loathe the guy so much. Watching him get the Gatorade shower and instantly get back down to business really made me feel like we finally have a man who knows what the hell he is doing on the sidelines...something I can honestly say I have not seen in my lifetime.

The players respect him. He has earned their respect by being a friend to them. He is involved with all of them and not aloof. When he gets in someones face they take it and listen to what he has to say because they believe he has their best interests at heart. Sparano is the man.
P.S. did anyone else see Porter and Sparano bump chests on the sideline? He is the players coach, not just coach.
