For all of you that still grasp onto the idea that Pennington is somehow responsible for keeping Ginn down. Here's what Sparano said when he was asked about how different and better Ginn is now compared to back in May:

"He's [Ginn] a lot better right now and I think a lot of that has to do with Chad (Pennington). Certainly a lot of it has to do with Ted and his work ethic, but Chad helping these young guys out and Ted being willing to be helped out in that kind of situation..."

If some of you want to continue to somehow blame Pennington's arm strength or supposed inability to throw downfield, be my guest.

I'm going to have to side with the head coach of the team on this one, and not because I'm blind sheep-like follower, but because Sparano seems to be affirming what most of us already suspected.

That if anything, Pennington is the reason why Ginn is flourishing as a playmaker.

Don't worry, the haters usually lay low in regards this matter. Specially after we have led our team to the playoffs by mr "weak" arm. Throwing 2 td's in the process for a good amount of yardage. Those passes were put right on the money in spite of the awesome catches by the receivers. Chad is without a doubt the most accurate qb in the league.

Sparano absolutely loves Penny. He always has great things to say about him, always. That and the words of his teamates should tell us what CP means to this team.

Chad is a Great QB, and of course he has helped Ginn. I just don't see Ginn putting up bigtime #'s with Chad at QB though and that is fine, I could care less who gets what stats as long as we're winning which we are with Chad at the helm. Ginn has been open deep many times this season and chad just can't get the ball to him that far but again it's ok...... I'll take his accuracy and decision making over any rocket armed qb without Chad's other intangibles.

I don't necessarily agree with you about Pennington's arm strength on deep balls, but I totally agree with your overall stance.

All that matters is that the team is winning and that Ginn is flourishing as an overall player.

I have to say that watching Chad throw Sunday was a thing of beauty. Weak armed QB? Pass up the middle was beautiful, Ginn nice play on the ball. Pass to Ginn in the Corner of the endzone, about a 40 yarder in the air, perfect palcement. The Fasano TD if that ball is anywhere else it gets batted down, perfect pass. I agree Chad does not have a Manning like arm, but this guy is a touch passer, he doesnt try to throw hard, not saying that he could, but even watching the shorter stuff he doesnt try and throw it hard he just tries to place the pass where it needs to be. My Jet friend said he almost got Martin killed, well Jet friend did you see the play, it was the bobble that made him have to stay up a little longer and not protect himself. Penny is not perfect but I bet there are plenty of other teams that will take him right now.

Penny makes receivers better when the Jets brought in Favre they said he was the missing link because they already had the RBs and Rcvs needed, well now they are complaining that LC and Cotch couldnt get seperation thats why Brett couldnt throw down the field. How about Penny made those guys as good as they were, same is happening here with Ginn, the rookie Bess, and the "next Welker" Camarillo. Is it that these guys are really good players or is it the that the QB is a real good player? not taking anything away from the receivers but I put my money on Penny.

The 'Noodle arm' argument seems to finally be taking a long overdue and much needed respite. It is sick it took almost an entire season, playoff berth and a near perfect season by Chad...

I can't believe the number of times so many of us had to step up in defense of Pennington and point out what Superior QB play really is... The guy has been nothing short of SPECTACULAR for us and we should be on our knees thanking the Gods he fell into our lap.

Not only has he performed on the field but he has done it in practice as well, proving his character actually eclipses his abilities...

His fellow players LOVE HIM, the coaching staff and FO LOVE HIM... How in the world can any fan not?

This is similar to folks that bash Ronnie, Crowder, Ginn, etc...because they're not the absolute best players at their position.

It's very rare to have best of breed players at one position, let alone several. None of these guys (including Pennington) are Hall of Famers at this point (far from it) but they are all major contributors that do not deserve the constant barrage of negativity that they have received over the years.

Brown and Pennington seem to have gotten over the hump (although both still have their fair share of lingering detractors). Ginn is getting there and Crowder...perhaps if resigned this offseason, he'll have a chance to prove his naysayers wrong as well.

In Pennington's case I think there was a lot of 'hate' residue left from all those years as a Jet... I must admit it took me a little to get comfortable with him behind center. But the whole 'noodle arm' fiasco that began when he was signed showed a real lack of understanding of the complexity of the position. I could not be happier with the QB situation today.

I think Ronnie like Ginn is/was a victim of high expectations as per where they were drafted... I think people just expected them to come in and set the world on fire and were a little too impatient for any kind of a learning curve.

Crowder is the enigma... I saw you defending him in some other threads and while I certainly agree with the bulk of your posts, I share a little of the naysayers frustration with him... IMO He is just a little too inconsistent to warrant the hefty contract he will almost certainly command. For me the best efforts should be made to retain the man but there should be a ceiling at what cost.

Having said it, I am happy to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in that ALL of these players do not deserve any HATE whatsoever.

Like the song says: The future is so bright we gotta wear shades!

i also feel Ginn has really stepped up his game. He fights for balls, extra yardage, and its so nice to see him use a little verteran slight push off for his TD on sunday. I can really see him breaking out next year and having well over 1200 yards. As soon as he gets more confidence in his speed and quickness, those WR screens that go for 2 yards now, will go for 15, 20, 50, 75 yards next year.

Hes Playing Weel Ever Since The Miami Herald Ripped Him Up For Not Being A Hustiling Style Receiver In The New England Game After That Game Some Reports Wrote A Column On Him Advising Him To Stop Being Scared Of The Hit Or Goin Up For The Ball They Said He Had Played Wonderful This Year And Just Encouraged Him To Be More Agressive. And Fight For The Ball. And Sure Enough I Know He Must Of Read That Article Cuz Soon After That He Started To Hustle A Little More And Has Been Playing With A Purpose Since.

Credit the coaches for understanding what they had in CP and allowing him to have input in working with the receivers and selection of plays that best suit the abilities of each.

CP to Ginn while double covered, Ginn stops, turns, catches before the defenders can react!

Beautiful:beer1:

i think penny is the healthiest he has been since his shoulder injury and he's finding his arm strength again although itll probably never be the same as it was before the injury. Anyone who argues his value to this team and how good of a qb he is now is just being stubborn. Btw anyone notice the past couple of weeks we have been capable of converting third and long? Remember earlier this year there was a statistic that we were like 1/35 in 3rd and 7+.
