Speaking in terms of talent alone...

anyone agree we have more talent than SD did last year..? imo we have better wr. better dline, and better db's even without pat. and other places i feel were almost even, we have potential at te and rb to be close to where they were also

ok i like brown too but don't call him L.T's equivalent. mcmicheal and gates is almost a fair comparison i guess. they have the better QB though. And im not even talking about the season he had, i would have rathered brees BEFORE last season over feeley now. But hopefully feeley has brees' year.

The big difference is QB. So far AJ hasn't proved he's anything more than potential. I think Ronnie Brown will be great, but lets not say he's close to LT yet.

No one in the league is close to LT.

the puepose of this thread was not to point out that u need talent to win, tea is the most important aspect your right. im just trying to stir up a different side cuz im bored as anything

Really???

What teams have more talent than the three-time Champs?

dont blow it up, i said potential. brown will have lt type potential, because of his hands he is sometimes compared to lt, and in the future he has potential to develop in a multi faceted threat. obviously he hasnt touched the rock yet, but he also has size tomlinson doesnt, another dimension to bring to the table in the short yardage game. no doubt lt is the best int he game. i hope, i pray one day brown can develop inot 3/4 of the back he is...i just wanted to point of there is a ton of similarities to our teams, and i believe we have an advantage over last years chargers in some areas...lol thats all!

Pure talent? I would say the Eagles ans Steelers are more talented on paper. Obviously they weren't better teams though.

good call. the eagles probly have the most top to bottom talent in the league...but they have no heart...

Idividual Talent

Miami still rnaks in top 10 but is not about individual talent because the Patriots are not exactly more talanted than Fins. They do however have a great QB that Dolphins really lack.

Defensive line: Top 5...maybe the best. Taylor, Carter, Holliday, Bowens, Chester, Bowens, Zgonina and Roth. Saban will be bringing them in WAVES. I can't wait to see it.

Linebacker: Middle of the pack. Our high end guys (Thomas and Seau) while getting old are still top flight playmakers. Channing Crowder is a good addition but the rest of our depth is either unknown (Spragen), undersized (Pope) or always hurt (Moore).

Secondary: Middle of the pack. Our corner depth can stack up with anyone but with safety such an unknown that has to knock us down.

QB: Bottom 10. Until A.J. Feeley plays consistent, mistake free football for a long period of time our ranking stays the same. I think a change all accross the board in the coaching staff will help him bigtime.

RB: Middle of the pack. This goes to top 10 if Ronnie Brown has the type of season we all expect (1,200 rushing, 40 catches and 10-12 TD's). Lamar Gordon is a good backup and a good complimentary player.

WR: Middle of the pack. Our starting two could be a top 10 pairing (if we EVER see the "breakout" season from #84) but our depth is...um...not good in my opinion.

TE: Top 10. Randy McMichael is a top 10 recieving tight end. with more consistency he can be a Pro Bowler. Donald Lee is a decent back up who will benifit quite a bit from NFL level coaching (unlike what we have seen in Miami for the last little while). I could see Lee having a breakout season in Linehan's two tight end offense.

O-line: Bottom 5...BEFORE the coming of the Houck. I think Hudson Houck's presence makes this a middle of the pack unit immediatley.

Special Teams: Top 10: We have a decent kicking game (it can be VERY good if Mare ever wakes up). We finally have a game breaking kick returner and we had good coverage units last year even though they were ravaged by injuries.

Ravens, Eagles, Steelers...I would argue the Saints have more talent then the Patriots. How in the hell Jim Haslett still has a job in beyond me.

Look at the Saints on paper and tell me ONE reason besides bad coaching that they miss the playoffs year after year.

new orleans could use some help in the secondary. they did finish on a roll last season, just missing out on the post season, unlike previous years where they just flopped ( like us ) down the stretch
