speaking of who's next for the HOF.....

this comment follows completely with what I've been saying about future HOF voters and those looking for enshrinement.

''Forty years ago, you only had to be real good to make the Hall,'' said Pope, a Hall voter for 29 years. ``Now you have to be great.''

I feel since they figured out that Swann was a mistake, they are all going to be more like baseballs HOF voters...which if good...just so long as they are JUST like the baseball guys. Baseball is just a little harsh. But they would've made sure Lynn Swann wasn't voted in!
 
you know....it's comments like this that have forced me to dislike Peter King......

Said King: 'Kooch is more unlikely than likely. For the accomplishments of the Dolphins' [1972 offensive line] to be represented by more than two is seen by some in the room to be a stretch. That ship has sailed with the '72 team. If he makes it, it will be on merit as a football player."

of course he should be in the HOF and it has nothing do with " '72 team" and there perfect season. It seems to me that King's almost punishing Kuch for being on the team. If I remember correctly King DID vote for Swann...and Swann got in based SOLEY on the merits of the dominat Steelers teams of the 70s. idiot!

Here's another one..this time about Seau.....

Seau spent most of his career in San Diego, has not said how long he will play. King said he's a ''likely'' Hall of Famer but not a lock. Pope seems more convinced: ``He's got a hell of a chance as a first-ballot Hall of Famer.''

I hope Pope made his comment right in front of King!
other than LT, you can't name 10 players in history who had a better 1st 10 years of their career than Junior. Add in the fact that Junior is one of the greatest of all time in charity work and giving of himself to the NFL as an ambassidor for the game. And I'm saying this knowing full well that Junior will go in as a Charger. Did I mention that Peter King is an Idiot?
