i think that the last thing that the dolphins need to do is fix their special teams mistakes. I was at the game and it looked to me that they over persued the ball. Letting that returner get by them for the touchdown was the changing factor in that game. Also wes welkers dropped ball, no matter whose fault it was the defender or jason allen, he is ultimatly responsible. watching it at the game, it looked that wes was going to try and return it but at the last second decided to fair catch it at the last second. Once we get the kinks in special teams out, we will be in a much better position

There was more then special teams, there was the Oline at times was getting owned. It was a team loss, and there is still some adjustments that need to take place, along with players getting healthy so we can get our secondary set. They need to gel together as well as our Oline with the right players in there.

Yeah, our special teams looked bad on other teams returns. But, it should get taken care of.Saban will put the right guys out there, with speed and good tackling abilities.

Agree. Team loss. The only thing i was impressed with was the D. Wilkinson was a beast. The oline was awful. Bottom line, if our Oline can't play, we have NO shot at winning more than 9, if that.

thats why its preseason, saban wont keep any players that slack off regarldless where they sit on the depth chart. expect some special teamers to get cut

i guess you were watching a different game than me. i thought i saw culpepper just chillin back there with little pressure from the best dline in the game right now. i would say our first team oline played amazing.

What about the Oline's inability to create holes for ronnie? He was met in the backfield by Panthers several times.

Special teams wasn't the only culpret. There are other areas that need to be addressed, and they will.

I was at the game, and I did notice that on each kick off, there was gaping holes in the middle of the special teams. Obviously, we paid big time once. On another, we were one man away from giving up another.

your right they didnt do a good job, ronnie did look a little indecisive, but it was the panthers, they were number one vs the run last year give them credit

I wouldn't say amazing . . . but they played decent, better than what people are claiming how they played. That Carolina D is just tuff as nailz to run against . . and we didn't run many plays to soften that up until Joey got in the game. They were pumped up, they were at home and they were killin it early. But as the game got a bit older, Ronnie was like 6 for 27 on his last 6 carries, and CPep and JoeyH were getting pretty good pass protection. Definetly still a work in progress but I also liked what I saw, considering who we were playing.

Carolina does have an awesome defensive line but once the real games begin I'd hope they can provide Ronnie a fighting chance. I don't see why they can give QB protection but not run blocking.

Keep in mind that this is only my theory. But considering how incredibly valuable Daunte is to this franchise, my guess would be that more time was spent in training camp focusing on pass protection than run blocking. And if I were saban or houck, I would be doing the same thing as well. I mean think about it, if you just gave up a 2nd rd pick for a franchise qb coming back from a devastating knee injury, wouldn't your first priority be keeping him healthy? Keep in mind that this is just a theory. However, if it is correct, then we really don't have much to worry about, as I think the run blocking schemes shall come into their own.

The O-line did some nice pass blocking but I think the run blocking was pretty bad.

dude,:tantrum:, what it comes down to is that (its preseason)....And when a team loses, the TEAM loses. It is not one person's responsibility. If one guy messes up, then it is up to the team to make up for it. Point is, the only game that matters within the next few weeks is @ the Steelers. Go Dolphins:dolphins:
