In 2011, the Philadelphia Eagles were heralded as a "Dream Team." It started with Vince Young's proclamation in training camp and then became a buzz word for the media. With Michael Vick at QB, they added big names like Nnamdi Asomugha, our own Ronnie Brown, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and All-Pro guard Evan Mathis. They fizzled to an 8-8 record.

A new "Dream Team" emerged. The 2024 Jets entered the season as purported Super Bowl contenders with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. Their offense looks even worse than it did under Zack Wilson.

They've squandered an arguably star-studded roster on both sides of the field leaving their head coach and GM in the wake.

Sputtering, they desperately added Devante Adams as a panacea -- further placating Rodgers.

After news broke that Jets owner Woody Johnson wanted Rodgers to ride the pine after the Broncos loss, Rodgers wants out of New York. The diva has come full circle.

- When do you think Aaron Rodgers will be released (in-season like Daniel Jones, after the season, or not at all)?

- Will Aaron Rogers play for another team in 2025?

- What do you think happens to Devante Adams?

- Will we sweep the Jets, or will those games be competitive division games?

- How do the tears of Jets fans taste?

I always worry about divisional games...you never know what will happen in those. Not just our division, around the league.

That said, I'm not too concerned about the Jets in 2024, based on how 2024 has progressed for both teams.

There is nothing more enjoyable in this world than watching the collapse of the Jets whether it's this season, in the Rex Ryan era, Joe Walton, you name it - they've had their share of misery and I've loved every minute of it.

That being said, I've been a Dolphin fan all of my 50 years and I've seen some absolutely atrocious Jet teams give good Dolphins teams all they could handle and beat them as well. Kudos to you and your brass set for having no worry about this current Dolphins team and its defense who many times this season has disappeared at key moments. I hope you are right.

Hey -- I didn't say I wasn't worried about the Jets games, you never know with division games. We just watched the Browns beat the Steelers on Thursday night... Nobody really predicted that. The Browns game is not going to be a cake walk for us, either. Hopefully it doesn't snow.

As crazy as it is to type -- who knows if Tyrod Taylor would have more success right now for the Jets if Aaron Rodgers gets the axe before our games. We've had problems with him before.

I truly believe it is possible that Aaron Rodgers gets cut before we play them. When things go south with him, they don't tend to get better.

Aaron Rodgers cannot be cut this year. The Jets currently have 3 million in cap space. If Rodgers is cut, his cap hit this year jumps by nearly 50 million. I don't see how the Jets can swallow that. The good news is that when the Jets cut him in the 2025 offseason, his elevated cap hit will consume pretty much all of their free cap space.

That's a real shame...

Anyone who thinks that this game or any game is a cakewalk should see how the Dolphins did in their 2003 season opener at home against the Texans. That one still bothers me.

Its a shame the NFL rigged super bowl 3 so the jets would win so the merger would happen

Thanks for this — I wasn’t aware of the cap hit.

It’s just like some of us (not including me) wanted to cut Hill, Waddle, Tua, and Ramsey a month after signing each to extensions.

In any event — this is not going to end well except for the rest of the AFC East. Good point about the FA implications too.

OMG I thought about this exact game posting this thread. I remember a confident Jason Taylor pre-game, acting like a loss was impossible. Oops.

Roger’s is a cancer, I live in upstate NY and hate the Jets since Namath. I could not believe how people were projecting them in pre season . They were a sub 500 team last year and one of the worst in the nfl under Joe Douglas. Joe Douglas could not have hurt an organization any better even if he was trying . My Christmas present
