Hold on, NFL. Spygate isn't over. Not if the "incensed" Pittsburgh Steelers fan in Congress has anything to do with it.

Sen. Arlen Specter on Wednesday called for an independent investigation of the New England Patriots' taping of opposing coaches' signals, possibly similar to the high-profile Mitchell Report on performance enhancing drugs in baseball.

"What is necessary is an objective investigation," Specter said at a news conference in the Capitol. "And this one has not been objective."

The Pennsylvania Republican was unforgiving of his criticism of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, saying that Goodell has made "ridiculous" assertions that wouldn't fly "in kindergarten." The Senator said Goodell was caught in an "apparent conflict of interest" because the NFL doesn't want the public to lose confidence in the league's integrity.

How come Arlen specter can clearly see a conflict of interest with regards to Goodell and the league yet he can't seem to admit to his own conflict of interest regarding comcast and the NFLN?
I find it rather amuzing this senator or any senator dares to question anyones integrity.

Actually,
Sept 14th Mort reports that the NFL fined the patriots for breaking a rule of video taping offensive or defensive signals[their is only 1 rule] of opposing coach from un authrorised places since 2000

so lets 1 rule broken , 1 first rounder, alot of fines and then nothing new has come out.

specter already is saying he cannot have a judicary hearing so he is calling for a indepentent investigation and also how easily you forget to mention that he is going to give every one a few months to think about it when he is going to get his chemo done .

why a judicary hearing will not happen ?
walsh will be asked the following
1)did he audio tape his boss without his permission
2)did he place a blender blade in his roomates bed which got him fired as the coach in college
3)did he lie on his resume
4)did he start the rumour of the walkthrough tape.
5)r u pissed you got fired
to establish if he non creditable witness.

If they call his creditablilty then the nfl will say
1)he told spector no one from the patriots asked him to report on the walkthrough
2)He said he had the tape entirly and gave it to scouting after the game which confirms what bb claims that no tape was used during a game.

NFL - as godell confirmed again taking notes and logging of defensive /offensive[i do not know what they are] is prefectly legal as long as a video tape is NOT used .they can never justify this crap.

who is going to pay for this ?... about baseball steriod issue bush mentioned it his state of the union speech in 2004 and talked about this and also trafficing of such items are illegal.so unless you expect the next president to talk about this how using a video camera from a uncovered position is illegal i do not think it will happen.

Therein lies true irony....
