I'm the Man in the Box
This is pure speculation based solely upon circumstantial evidence but hear me out...
The first Blow was when Cammeron announced that chambers would be switching from the "Z" position to the "X" position.

This just happens to be the spot that Booker has been holding down since he arrived here...Now initially I didn't think much about it, but then read a little article by Kirwan about the switch from Z to X...

The Z role does not sound like booker at all. As of now we have three receivers on the roster who are X's (chambers, booker, and hagan) and three guys who are definite Z's (Campbell, Hakim, Ginn jr)
I think Mueller and cam will cut booker as he no longer has a starting role on the team. The thing is, if he is cut there is no cap penalty for us. So we are free to keep him until the first day of the season and either trade him to a team after an injury, or just cut him in training camp with no penalty...
Now personally I like Booker and love his play, but 3 million plus is a lot to pay for a back-up WR....

Among the changes this offseason have been a switch from defensive-minded coach Nick Saban to Cam Cameron, considered an offensive guru. For Chambers, it also has meant spending the past month adjusting to a new role at receiver. In football jargon, Chambers has moved from the Z to X position. Why? It's a subtle change that could have substantial results

An X receiver is a wide receiver usually lined up on the line of scrimmage and mostly to the weak side (away from the tight end). Because he is on the line, he is not going to use motion in the pre-snap. X receivers tend to be taller than Z receivers and must contend with cornerbacks that want to jam their release. Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are classic X receivers.
A Z receiver is a wide receiver occasionally referred to as a flanker. The Z receiver will line up off the line of scrimmage and is eligible to go in motion. .... In general, the Z receiver is quicker and occasionally a bit shorter than an X receiver. When both wide receivers are to the same side in a formation, it is referred to as a 'slot' or 'flip' and the Z is usually inside. Santana Moss is a typical Z receiver.
