It's the offseason. Let's break down our topics to date that we have argued about and almost come to typed blows over.

Stay or Go: Gus, Seau, Sam, Howard, Jones, and even Mare.

Bring him in: TO, Brooks, McNair, Couch, Schaub, Randle El, Van Pelt, and so many more that we might fill the internet attempting to name them all.

Draft that QB: Cutler, Young, Leinhart, etc.

The point of the thread is to say......Isn't the offseason wonderful? It's like Baskin Robbins 31 flavors multiplied times five. This is the only time of the year when you can want anybody out there in a Phins uniform and feel great about it. Nobody's hurt. Everyone is playing at a pro bowl level in our minds eye. There's a tail side to the coin as well. If someone didn't play like you wanted this past season, screw them. Sam didn't have more than 2 or 3 INT's this year? Get rid of him. Gus feels he needs to throw a Nolan Ryan speed ball on every play? Outtie 5000 for him. Rosenfels can't figure out how to outshine the competition and get himself the starters job? Get me a rope. Boston's true calling is the body building circuit as opposed to the NFL? Set him on fire! Ricky's costing us almost nothing and playing like an all worlder late in the season? Trade him! The same thing goes for the FA's we can get. TO has officially proven that he's a piece of garbage due to the way he acts towards the teams that have made him filthy rich? Let's get him!

We can all make any argument regardless how stupid it might sound at this point. Trade Ricky for Ryan Leaf to come back. He's a # 1 overall pick he must have some talent! Trade Mare for Vanderjagt so we can miss the easy ones that make the big difference!

We should have somewhere that we can record our perceived offseason moves. Whoever ends up being the closest to correct should get some type of award!

Isn't it great! We'll even break down to almost insulting each other over something that doesn't even come close to happening! I've done it myself many times!

In case we have the ability to predict what happens....here's my predicition.

Madison is cut loose.

We pick up Aaron Brooks.

We draft a Qb to learn under Brooks.

Gus goes bye bye.

Ricky stays.

Reggie Howard is long gone.

Schulters stays.

Tebucky Jones is either gone or takes a gigantic pay cut.

Seau retires.

This statement is hopefully worth a lot and hopefully Saban agrees with it.

I agree but Ricky is gone while his trade value is as good as it is ever going to get at this point..., the draft picks coming our way will be based on his first season performancre with his New Club..., I think Philly... am probably wrong..., but they don't have durable runners like RW and we deal a lot with them..., and they have had a lot of draft picks in recent years..., so they have a lot of youth in the stable..

Loaded up on youth..., they can spare a pick or two...

We'll have to wait and see. The reason I see us keeping Ricky is his low cost. Everyone says he'll end up demanding a new contract. Even if he does, we still have the 18.3 million judgement against him. Not to mention, It's great having him and Ronnie in there. The only reason I would see a trade is if Saban can jump up to grab one of the top three Qb's.

Madison is cut loose......I agree

We pick up Aaron Brooks.....No please :shakeno:

We draft a Qb to learn under Brooks.....Draft QB(yes) Learn from Brooks(NO)

Gus goes bye bye....Not a big fan of Gus, but he is still a better choice then Brooks

Ricky stays.....I like Ricky and hope he stays, but have a feeling 1st good trade option, Ricky is gone

Reggie Howard is long gone.....Oh man do I hope your right :fire:

Schulters stays......Absolutly

Tebucky Jones is either gone or takes a gigantic pay cut......too much money, he is gone

Seau retires....hate to lose such a smart and great player, but I agree

The Brooks thing is a prediction not a hope. I think at the end of the day, he'll be the best veteran choice out there for us. It's not like he was working for all these great coaches in NO. I think he'd prosper under better tutelage. He seems to have all the components of a Mularkey QB.

A hope? No way to that. I wouldn't want any young QB to be exposed and therefore run the risk of emulating the stupid/boneheaded mistakes that Brooks often makes. It doesn't matter if Mularkey is coaching the young guy because he'll still be exposed. All that Brooks has is physical talent but he's a horrible decision maker. I wouldn't want him to be a role model for any young QB on the Fins team. Send him to the Bills or Jets please.

Vince YOung is dropping like flies! Lets get him!

Your right about him being the best vet choice (Talent wise), but my problem is our eventual goal is to draft a young QB that we can mold into our eventual starter, and considering we will still be running the same offense, Gus will be a more logical guy to hold the fort and hopefully help the Young gun to learn the offense. With Brooks, he will have to learn another offense, which could be risky if he is not able to grasp it as well as Gus did (Not every QB feels comfortable in every offense).

Also even though I agree Brooks is a better QB then Gus, he also is inconsistent, and will take more risks then Gus. Say all you want about Gus not making the play when he needs to, but he will also not give it up with a risky throw at the worst possible time.

Only my opinion Balls, I could be wrong. :D

There is no way we have a chance at young...but if it happens, JUMP ON HIM!!! (just be care how hard, or in what manner you jump on him...he's a big guy) :D

Good take Tay. My only thing with keeping Gus around is that he sucks. I'd like to see us make a two prong attack on the QB position. First, we need to go after the best FA out there to supplant Gus with. We have no idea how the draft will pan out so we have to treat FA as if it's our only shot at fixing the QB position. Then in the draft still go for the best QB we can get. That way we're safe both ways. We have the best FA available out there at QB and we have the best QB in the draft that we could realistically lay our hands on that's learning in the wings. I want to see Saban "GO FOR IT" on the QB position. Frerotte is the safe mediocre way out. He's not going to get better he'll just hopefully not get worse.

If we get Brooks, or Schaub, or Couch, or whoever they are coming in to play the QB position. They are not coming in to teach the drafted QB the position. That's what the QB coach, and the other bazillion position coaches we have are for. That FA will be coming in to provide us with the best skills available to us for the time being.

I'm sick to death of us playing it safe at that position. We need to go for it in both FA and the Draft. Worse case scenario is we have a better starter and a great rookie waiting in the wings.
