Speculation: Jason Taylor to New York

Posted on March 4th, 2009 by TheJetFan24
Tom Curran of NBC Sports is thinking that Taylor might be on the Patriots radar but he could also be on Tannenbaum’s as well.
AFC: Patriots. Jets. Titans. Browns. Texans
NFC: Cowboys. Buccaneers.

And from that list, the team’s that would be most accomodating would probably be the Jets, Patriots and Cowboys - New York because Rex Ryan seems a veteran players dream, New England because they always accomodate brass-ring grabbing veterans who can help them and Dallas because that’s how they roll.
The possiblity of Taylor coming to New York is pretty slim though. If anything the Patriots would be the ones on the ‘Taylor Bandwagon’ considering they shipped Mike Vrabel off to Kansas City. Curran also mentions how Belichick would “gush” over Taylor whenever there was a Dolphins - Patriots game so I wouldn’t put too much stock into Jason coming to the Big Apple.

IMO Taylor to the Patriots is as good as signed, sealed, and delivered unless Jason pulls a Zach disrespecting the Pats (how sweet would that be?) and heading off to join his bro in law. Belicheck only opens up the check book for players who have given him fits in games and if that's not the very definition of JT, I don't know what is.

let him go to NE .... i would rather they have him than Peppers .... JT will spend time on the DL, for sure

Jim Bates is with the Bucs...They will pursue him because Jim Bates was the phins DC for many of JT's years here. There is a comfort there and Tampa needs defensive guys.

He's not here anymore....we did better without him last year.

Time to move on...he isn't what he used to be, so who cares where he goes?

If he goes to the Jets or Pats* he is as good as dead to me

I doubt he will, but if he goes to the Pats* or Jets, I will not only feel betrayed, I will be burn my taylor jersey.

But part of me wants him to. He was great for us, but if he wants to royally piss off the fans who made him rich, let him. Jake Long wll have no problem destroying him 2 times a season. If he goes to the Jets or Pats I hope he robs them blind of a massive cap hit.

I hope he lands with the Pats, but another team will offer him more money. If he wants a shot at a ring? He might land in NE.

I've never held last year against JT in the perspective of all he's done for us and the community over the years. BUT, in context to refusing to train which begs the impression he thinks he's above the rest of the team AND if he ends up joining an AFC competitor, I'll be officially off the JT bandwagon, including ever wanting to see him back for Ring Of Honor induction.

To be fair, the sessions the skins want him to attend are voluntary. He would have showed up for the mandatory sessions.

It's hard to imagine someone turning down 500k to show up and hang with his teammates. I still think the skins were idiots to cut him. They must be tight against the cap, otherwise they could have traded him for something.

Like I said before who cares where JT goes, he will just be another player on another team to me. I think NE understand the need to get younger on defense. that's the reason they let Vrabel go. I don't think they would repalce a old player with another old player that they have no loyalty to. Vrabel been through the wars with them and a leader on the team.so why replace him when they could have kept him?

Love JT but if he goes to the Pats and they move him back to the right side (reports say Skins played him on the left), Jake Long will manhandle him all day. Let him go wherever he wants, we have something for him.

Taylor has totally lost it anyways

his back and his toe won't let him be what he once was

maybe we will read jt is going to the yankees next
"oh these rumors are funny"
