Tonight at the game I did not notice Berger once. I also believe Garner handled all the second team Center snaps. I have to watch the video, but it seems Berger was non excistent out there. I wonder if he is facing the axe or if Miami will try to trade him. I know Berger counts like 3 mill against the cap this year and Fins could be looking to get that money back. Just speculation on my part would like to know what you guys think.

He will be cut. I don't think anyone will want to take on his salary, so his trade value has to be almost non-existent. He is a decent back up, nothing more.

Garner can play any position on the line, so we are fine with Garner as the back up.

I could see that, especially given that the Phins may still pick up O'Hara, which would make Berger completely expendable. Might as well get something for him if you can.

I think this pretty much guarantees Pouncey stays at center.

Not in and of itself. They could (and in my opinion should) switch Incognito and Pouncey. I get why they're not doing it -- they've invested in Pouncey and want him at center. But the running game would be much better this year, in my view, if they switched them. Watching Incognito pull (which they must have done a half dozen or more times tonight) is nauseating. Whereas Pouncey is an ideal move player.

Anyhow... yeah, the writing is pretty much on the wall with Berger. I haven't run the numbers but my guess is it came down to him or John Jerry.

Not only did Joe Berger not play Friday night he did not suit up. Berger was a healthy scratch for unknown reasons, makes you wonder if he will be traded or if he was cut. Another Olineman to not see action is Ray Willis. Willis lost his father last week and is back in Texas mourning the loss. My prayers go out to the entire Willis family.

john jerry still has talent so i would go on to say that joe bergers sorry as has to go..

I have not seen it from Jerry yet. I might be completely wrong, but I haven't even seen flashes yet so I could say that he needs to be consistent.

I haven't seen the game yet, but i did see a video posted on FH showing the offensive plays in the 1st have. Garner was playing LT in some of those clips with the 1st string unit. That told me all i needed to know about the other backup o-lineman!!! With Garner now playing every position along the line, guys like Berger and Feinga are gone. There is no need for them. Garner's versatility should earn him a long term contract IMO? I saw this coming with Garner when he was thrown into the center spot; during the Carolina game in 2009 when 3 lineman went down to injury. To bad Garner got hurt in 2010 and missed the season. Berger was just here to take up space and due to Garner's injury was thrust into the starting center spot. My gut tells me Berger is gone this week.

Berger, Culver, Will Allen . . . would save this team quite a bit under the cap. There is no rush to cut them, but these are the 3 veterans I could see being cut

I think you may have hit the perfect scenario.

Berger was getting manhandled last year and was one of the biggest reasons our rushing attack was poor. I wouldn't shed a tear to see him go as he's another former Dallas scrub.
