I made this thread cause this First day of Free Agency has been depressing. Don't get me wrong I loved the fact we signed Carey, Crowder and Bell. To me Wilson was the icing on the cake cause I wanted him to replace Bell if didn't sign Bell and Berger adds good depth, but I need some news. I think Goody could resign. You see the Fins are my drug. Anyways I thought it would be nice to start of possible FA visits.

Here I go:

Laveranues Coles ( Link to Miami )
Leigh Bodden ( Salguero reported Miami was Interested )
Tony Curtis
Kevin Burnett

Short list for now, but these are guys I feel strongly about and that can be signed immediately.

Feel Free to Add.

Coles and Bodden wouldn't be too bad.

I'm more curious about our draft. I figured we'd get a few FAs, then get the rest in the draft.

It would be nice to fill some holes through FA and draft BPA.

I'd like to see us sign Matt Birk for about 3 years. Draft Mack or Wood to play RG next to him and then slide over to the pivot when Birk's contract is up. In the meantime we'd have very good depth on the interior with Smiley, Birk, Thomas, Satele and Wood/Mack to cover the 3 spots, leaving 2 of them in reserve.

Im certain of thing we are too crowded at LB. Reggie Torbor did nothing last season and while playing ST was not spectacular, he has a hefty contract and I believe he could be release.

Buenett is a much better Backup and a hell of ST.

OLB is super Crowded as well with the addition of Wake I Think Moses or Anderson could be released. Anderson was somewhat of a dissapointment and I cant see them releasing Roth of the smooth transition he made, so my safe bet is Moses is release and when we draft an OLB which I have speculate Anderson is gone as well.

I like your thinking, but Parcells is said to have a huge man crush on Donald Thomas, Im sure some competation will be brought, but we are crowded at OL position as well.

Our interior right now sounds like this Smiley,Satele,Thomas,Alleman,Ndukwe and newly aquired Berger. The last thing I would want for us to sign is Birk, because then the Chance of drafting a C are slim to none and this draft is rich at the position.

I say slim to none, because we would Alleman, Satele, Bereger and Birk on the team all who could play C. Best thing they do right is that the C position is not address to the draft.Remember this years draft is said to be one of the richest at the position.

we need to sign 1 free agent wr and draft one

hopefully coles and whoever

but i wouldn't be mad if we got bryant johnson

Johnson was a Fa last year and we piad no attention. I think the organization does not like him.

Alleman and Ndukwe are by no means assured of a roster spot and are both the kind of reserves that I would like to see an upgrade from.

I think the The Trifecta has its worked cut up. There are a number of players I would cut.

Ernest Wilford

Reggie Torbor

Charlie Anderson

Paul Soliai

Quentin Moses

Courtney Bryan

Rodrique Wright

John Beck.

I might get crucified, but Jason Allen your FIRED.

For me it's too soon to give up on Solai and Wright, and Beck and Allen have ?some? trade value.

Mr. Clean, tell me about that NT out of Texas

Here is what nfldraftscout.com says about him:

Overview

Often overshadowed by Texas' multitude of other standouts, Miller was key to the Longhorns' success over the past four seasons. He lacks the eye-popping size and speed numbers NFL scouts look for, though his production is sure to attract attention. A veteran of 49 games with the Longhorns, Miller leaves with 138 career tackles, 25 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks including 49-11-5.5 as a senior in earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as voted by the conference coaches. The defensive MVP in Texas' victory over Ohio State in the 2009 Fiesta Bowl (2.5 tackles, one TFL, one sack) he also had a strong performance during the East-West Shrine Game and is a candidate to move up draft boards.

Analysis

Positives: Short, squatty frame. ... Good lower-leg drive and use of leverage to hold up as a nose guard. ... Can anchor against the double-team and create a pile. ... Flashes some initial and lateral quickness as a pass rusher. ... Quick hands and impressive upper-body strength to disengage from blocks and make tackles at the point of attack. ... Flashes some explosiveness as a hitter. ... High-effort player who will pursue down the line. ... Physical player who has value as a short-yardage fullback or wedge-buster on special teams. ... Helped himself with solid week of practice at the East-West Shrine Game.

Negatives: Limited athlete who lacks the size and agility to offer much more than what he's asked as a run-plugging nose guard. ... Needs an open lane to close and has only short-area quickness. ... Offers very little in terms of a traditional pass rush. ... Creates penetration behind the line of scrimmage due to his stout frame, but most of his plays are made based on hustle.

Who are our back-up tackles? Am I the only one that is a little considered with the lack of depth there? There are rumblings, for whatever sources my memory comes up with, that say Ndukwe could be a potential backup. Are we going to count on Brandon Frye again next season?

The Berger signing makes for some high-drama come mini camp to training camp time. You've got a lot of young bodies that are going to be fighting for essentially two spots. I assume that Smiley will still have his starting spot, LG or RG unknown at this time. It would be nice, because of his pulling prowess, to see him lined up at RG. This leaves, Satele, Thomas, Berger, Alleman, Murphy, Johnson, + additional rookie and free agents to compete for Guard and Center. Surely two must emerge as long term prospects, no?
