Speculation: Suspended Players Could Be Reinstated before Sunday!

COULD a Jones or Jordan help cover kicks this week? Not sure what shape they are in etc. However, I am concerned about who helps on special teams as Trusnik, Jenkins and McCain get more reps.

Was thinking the same thing, maybe Jordan on special teams if they voted tonight. Team plane leaves tommorow so they would have to charter a plane Saturday? Then we have to release someone who traveled out to Buffalo. Probably not going to happen.

Dion Jordan might be able to help with our lack of bodies at LB...

*ducks*

Hell, Im in shape to run 50 yards downfield and cover a kick. They will be fine at that.

I really think thats why they tabled the vote - to not let players play this week. Its not a Fins conspiracy thing, just a support the original decision thing. Then everybody looks like a good guy moving forward.

Ill be really happy having both of them back with Pouncey soon.

New drug policy, if approved, would include higher marijuana threshold. But every current suspension reviewed individually. Including Gordon

Sounds like a vote would happen tomorrow afternoon/evening. The league offices close at 4:00PM. I wonder even if they pass the new drug policy if it wouldn't take effect until Monday when the league offices re-open. Might be for the best because it is so late in the week and they would need to cut two players to make room. Almost rather it wait until after the Bills game.

Said earlier union won't vote on drug policy unless they know it'll pass. I'm told a vote is expected. Story from @RapSheet and me coming. (@Albertbreer)

From what I read its supposed to be tomorrow afternoon…and according to Breer he thinks theres a good chance its done tomorrow. Im assuming the suspensions would be immediately lifted at that point.

When a new drug policy is approved as early as this afternoon, Josh Gordon's suspension expected to be reduced to 8 games, per source.

For those who wondered about Gordon.

Is that including the two games already missed? Or 8+2 already missed?

NFLPA Source: NFLPA executive committee has received email notification about a conference call scheduled for 4pm. today

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the policy will include the following terms:

1. An independent arbitrator will hear appeals for under both the substance-abuse policy and the PED policy. The NFL and NFLPA will jointly select, approve, and pay for a pool of three-to-five arbitrators.

2. The threshold for a positive test for marijuana will increase to 35 ng/ml. The prior limit was 15 ng/ml; the Olympic standard is 150 ng/ml. Also, the policy will have additional steps for players who test positive for the substance, before an initial suspension.

3. All players who tested positive or who were otherwise disciplined or placed into the drug or PED program will have retroactivity, with the new rules being reapplied as of March 11, 2014.

4. A two-game suspension will be issued upon conviction for driving under the influence. However, there will be no action taken after a DUI arrest, as the NFL initially had proposed.

5. Amphetamines taken without a Therapeutic Use Exemption during the offseason will be evaluated under the substance-abuse policy. During the season, a positive test without a TUE will continue to be a violation of the PED policy.

6. Testing for hGH will occur in the 2014 season. There will be no population study, but the players will have the ability to challenge the science during the appeal process. No blood samples will be collected on game days.

7. Independent investigators will be retained to review cases of breached confidentiality. Any employers of the league, the teams, the union, players, and agents found to be in violation of the confidentiality provision will face fines of up to $500,000, termination of employment, or other discipline.

If the NFLPA player representatives decide to vote on a proposal, it would be to authorize NFLPA negotiators to agree with the NFL over......the terms of the policy changes contained in the term sheet. After that, the NFL and NFLPA will finalize the drafts of the full policies.
