With this OL? He'd have been abused into retirement and we woulda missed the playoffs anyway.

Manning made the right decision, can you blame him. I would never sign with the Dolphins either.

Front runners for whom? Sure as heck not Manning.. you might have it confused.. we were the front runners to land Alex Smith if manning went to SF. Manning knew it, Ireland knew it, Ross knew it, even the fan base knew it, we had no shot at landing Manning, we traded Marshall(everyone labeled it a move to get manning but I never saw it that way, it was Jeff being jeff and trying to stock pile mid round picks before Marshall hit the breakdown wall in Miami), so it was Miami with Hartline, Bess, no named RB, unknown coach with a O cord that was never going to be ok with Manning be the I got this guy calling his own plays.. or SF that was on the rise with a young minded coach and great D, Denver with mass weapons and ran by a man that himself knows what it takes to reach the promised land. I don't even think we were the first to speak with him, so come out of fantasy land.

Let's not stop at what if we had manning, let's go all out.. what if we signed Manning and he groomed the son of Marino while we had Ricky come back from yoga, Marshall was our #1 with clayton as #2, and for laughs.. chambers as our slot wr.. bought a plane ad for Ross to invest in a time machine, go back and draft Gronk & injected him with super secret area 51 no bone break juice.. I bet we would be sitting giddy as all heck right about now!
 
did you see our oline play this season peyton would be dead if he signed with miami.
 
You're missing the point, if you could have manning, then you could also go back and get Webb & the likes of players
