Spitler must be holding Trump card

you're wrong, my friend. The longer you're on this forum, you will realize that it is laden with some of the premier nfl talent evaluators in the business. Do not question them...they watch tv.

lol lol lol lol!!!

Then what is Spitler's excuse for doing jack **** in preseason while Edds was actually useful? I'm tired of the "they're good at ST" excuse for keeping **** payers around while our ST still suck ***.

Look, somebody HAD to go. We could not carry that many LBs into the reg season. Maybe Spitler shows intangables, like leadership, the ability to control the defense, making sure people are where they should be, and maybe Edds couldnt grasp the little things. I think Spitler was a team captain in college, correct me if im wrong. I dont know and neither does anyone, and we probably will never know why the cuts happen like they do.

Maybe its the fact that Edds was a lesser version of Dansby OR Burnett, and since they BOTH can play every down, we saw no need in having a smaller copy of them on this team? Barring injury, thats a pretty good answer.

All we can do is hope he makes it back to the PS, coming off season ending surgery and being a 1st year rook for all intents and purposes might not look appealing to too many teams. Heres to hoping he clears waivers, and we're able to develop this kid.

Buy your season tickets.

Support the team no matter how bad it might become.

I got nothing.

It looks like a clear case of "cut the guys who actually produce" to me. If you're defense is centered around guys like Dansby and Burnett who are good at coverage, wouldn't it make more sense to keep the guy that is more like them as opposed to a guy who isn't even Channing Crowder?

Spilter seems like a great special teams player and a project..... Edds might have lost a step which would mean he's not as valuable to us.... we did bring edds in because of his speed and coverage ability at linebacker if he can't be good at that i mean he really doesn't have a spot here

"Austin has done a really good job. AJ has missed a chunk of time. Austin has had that time," Sparano said of Spitler. What a chicken (^)*)^ answer.

I cant possibly draw a defense up, considering I dont know all the variables. I'm just offering opinions as to why they wouldve made this move. You gotta look deeper than the surface in order to find reasonings sometimes. Maybe Spitler has a high ceiling or something, and flashed something somewhere to keep a spot as a developmental guy? It will become clear soon enough.

Did he really say that?

There will be bigger issues as the season goes by, but that sort of takes a bite out of Tony's "intelligent, statistical approach" to evaluating his players. What a dumb response. Answers like that make you think Ireland told him to be short and to the point. That response on Edds by Tony is so opposite his statistical approach you have to believe he just didn't want to answer with any detail and patronize the media.
