Does anyone else own this? I bought it today and when I looked at the mock it has Brady Quinn going to KANSAS CITY at #23! They also SLAM Quinn and praise Russell like he is the second comeing of Jesus. They have Quinn ranked as a 3rd round QB, and his total score, on a 1-10 system, is a 5.4! He doesn't score above a 5.9 in any of the catergories, meanwhile Russell got an 8.9 (or something really close, the mag is in the car right now) and he had 8.5+ ratings in every catergory  They overrate a lot of questionable players and underrate a lot of players who seem to be solid picks. They guys with the most questions surrounding them get high marks in thsi guide, where the guys with the least questions get REALLY low marks.

I also own the ESPN and Pro Football Weekly draft guides and they are MUCH better than the SN one this year. I couldn't wait for the SN guide, I thought it was really good last year, but this year they seem to rate all the lower prospects way too high and the good prospects way too low. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this one is one of the ones you should just skim through in the store, because $8 is NOT worth it for this horrible guide. Sporting News is usualyl good, I even have a subscription to them, but this guide is crap.

what do you want every magazine to have the exact same opinion on everyone? maybe they do their ratings how they really feel and not on buzz or names or none of that...

Wow, 23? No way he gets past Miami, much less Minnesota or Detroit. I think they mixed up Russell with Quinn.

I looked through their rankings while I was at the magazine rack and I wasn't impressed. So I went with the PFW guide instead.

What else do you expect when you buy one of those magazines? What you are reading in there likely was written in January, since there is such a big lead time on those things.

Where do they rank Troy Smith? This is the guy that I believe is the most underrated of the top QB's. He gets no attention but might just be the best pick of the bunch.

Troy Smith is ranked as the 4th QB, projected to go in the 4th round. He is categorized as both "battle tested" and "on the decline" with a 5.9 grade out of 10.

What difference does it make what any magazine says anyway? Even every TV show doesn't really matter as far as how they rate the players....the only thing that matters is what teams picks what players and that's it.....sure is fun to read about the players and see the videos(which is more important anyway)but in the end the teams will have their boards and they don't read any magazines to see who they should pick.

Ozzy rules!!

who is their 2nd QB?

They have Kevin Kolb as the #2 QB, and they have Russell and Kolb as the only two 1st-round QBs, nobody in the 2nd, and Quinn in the 3rd :confused2:

No, but I want magazines to actually THINK about what they are writing. Brady Quinn going to #23? Russell gettnig an almost perfect rating? Posluszny to us at #9?

It is clear that the Rusell rating was DEFINATELY because he is a buzz name, they didn't have a single negative to say about him.

And even if this was written before Quinn's 2nd Pro Day, or back in January, it shouldn't matter, because Quinn's stock never went anywawhere CLOSE to that low in his unwarranted fall.

I don't want them to copy other mags, but I also don't want them to have unrealistic reports. ESPN, and even PFW, definately outshines them this year, which is unfortunate because they had such a good one last year.

I also saw it on the news stand, afyer I glanced at it....I decided to keep my $8. They also had Ryan Kalil going late 2nd to 3rd RD.
