The hottest new position: "Athlete." In the ultimate copycat league, you knew this was coming after the great success Reggie Bush, Maurice Jones-Drew and Devin Hester had as rookies. If Ohio State's Ted Ginn had been graded as a prospect purely on his receiving skills, he wouldn't have risen to the No. 9 overall pick with Miami. The selection of similar undersized yet lightning-quick open-field players was a big trend in Round 3, as speedsters Lorenzo Booker (Dolphins), Yamon Figurs (Ravens), Paul Williams (Titans), Garrett Wolfe (Bears) and Johnnie Lee Higgins (Raiders) all went higher than expected.

i cant wait to see him on the field, i just hope that foot holds up.

H will be fine it was a sprain and when i checked last it's not a career ending injurey

The sprain is now being called a LisFranc injury, it should be OK by regular camp, but they do linger around for longer. I hope it improves soon, I want to see him on the field.

why no love from draft analysts

Also (more) proof that the more things change, the more they stay the same. This whole concept is nothing new. Back in the mid 80's, Renaldo Nehemiah and Willie Gault were drafted by the 49ers and the Bears respectively, primarily for their speed as opposed to their receiving skills. Both teams won a Super Bowl with the above mentioned players, but neither player was a major factor. Nehemiah wasn't a starting WR; Clarke and Solomon were. The Bears won because of their running game and stellar defense.
I guess my point being I believe Ginn will help, provided he gets healthy. Let me add, I would expect him to recover fully. The people who state he's too light, he only knows how to run 3 routes, etc, etc are just looking for things to fault him with. The things you can't teach he already has. The rest he will learn, if Cameron is even close to being the offensive mastermind he's supposed to be.

WOW!! Showing your age there a little bit. I remember watching Nehemiah running the high hurdles. Went to pro football and was never a factor after they found out he just couldn't catch the ball.

The difference is that Ginn is a great athlete and also a great football player. Stop trying to discredit a player who played great ball in high school, college, and will eventually be one of the best receivers in the league.

Ted Ginn has the potential to be the best receiver we have ever seen, and I am ready to watch and see if he lives up to the expectations.

Garrett Wolfe 5-7, 177

What else could he be in the NFL?

He has heart and has to be speedy at that size or no one would have even looked at him but at that weight?????

Of course they gave us an A+. They are the ones that labeled Quinn, Joey Harrington 2.0. The fact that we passed on him helped I'm sure.
