A few Dolphin notes:

### With Lamar Miller hobbled (he said he will play through an ankle injury), perhaps the Dolphins shouldn’t have put Jay Ajayi (ribs) on short-term injured reserve to sign Logan Thomas for what turned out to be five days. Ajayi, not eligible for return until the eighth game, said he probably would have been ready for the third (Sunday).

### If Dallas Thomas keeps struggling, fans will continue to second-guess Miami not signing Evan Mathis. But Mathis already has allowed a sack for Denver and like Thomas, Pro Football Focus grades him in the lower-half of all guards through two games. Miami made a very respectable offer for Mathis, according to a Mathis associate.

### The reported signing of journeyman Terrell Manning gives Miami eight linebackers, a luxury considering Miami has one healthy tight end. There could be more roster shuffling if Dion Sims and Jordan Cameron aren't ready for Sunday.

As Armando Salguero noted, the Dolphins today auditioned tight end Adrien Robinson, who played in 19 games, with five receptions, for the Giants over the past three seasons. Miami hadn't made an offer as of early evening, according to his agent.

### Only Philadelphia and Detroit are averaging fewer yards rushing than Miami (58 per game), and Mike Pouncey said: "We've got to get our run game going. When our run game is going, our offense can't be stopped." Though Joe Philbin said blocking is primarily to blame, Lamar Miller said: "I need to do a better job trusting my offensive line."

Interesting that Chip Kelly's and his disciple's offenses are doing so poorly.
 
Mike pouncey your offense isnt unstoppable unless you protect the qb

Team sure could use some pop on contact at rb with ajayi right now i know that much...damien williams as a ball carrier drives me nuts

If Miller can't go we better sign Jonas Gray. He has had some success in games

Yeah this is a legitimate concern that the nfl has caught up with these college style offensive concepts...that wouldnt be good for us
 
Billy Turner should go to LG. What does Dallas Thomas offer and what is his upside. Turner is at least a good run blocker.

I think it has more to do with Kelly thinking he can jettison a **** ton of talent and still produce.

We better hope so...i dont like feeling like teams know whats coming with our zone run game concepts and im getting that vibe

Wouldn't be the first time...the one luxury Miami has though...A QB...

At least someone knows what is coming because it doesn't appear those 5 up front do...
 
our problem is that we can't take the top off a D. Long scoring drives limits our opportunities and throw in a couple 3 and outs and it's panic time. Until we can stretch a D we'll continue to see a crowded box and multiple blitzes.

Blame the line all you want but if you hit some deep balls they and the running game will improve.
 
Dallas Thomas, Jason Fox, a beat up B. Albert, Ju'wuan James and a young Jamil Douglas are getting trucked…that is why the run game is bad. Plus, Dion Sims being out does not help.
