Sports Buzz: best and worst Dolphins contracts

I mean I am too lazy to check, but did they really insist Williams and OV make nearly the same over the next two years?

Sure if you don't factor in the 20 million signing bonus and double the cap number.

Not to mention I will take Williams in this scheme for more production than OV.

Olivier Vernon would have been the worst contract on the team had we signed him at those numbers... even worse than Suh.

FYI, Pro Football Focus, Cam Wake is coming off an Achilles tear, not ACL.

miamis got all its eggs in old pass rushers...we better hope they got gas in the tank cause the cupboard is completely bare...the Jordan Cameron analysis is dead on...step up or replace after 2016...2015 was very disappointing...

Shouldn't be an issue to replace, draft is deep at TE. Even if he performs well I would still look to grab one.

I have no idea how you can say you could have kept OV for slightly more money? Baffling comment to me when the franchise tag for a DE is 15.7M but I guess 6.5M is about the same as 15.7M. Not to mention you can cut Williams next year for 2M in dead money.

Here's what they say = "The Dolphins could have retained Olivier Vernon on the franchise tag for only a little more than they gave Mario Williams over two years."

So sounds like they mean OV for one year or Williams for two. Plus, as you noted they are basing this on Williams performance last year, which the Fins are hoping was an anomaly and have plenty of good reasons to think so with the scheme. Could turn into a total steal if you ask me, while O.V. will struggle to live up to the monster contract he got in N.Y.

OV was and is very overrated. All those hits and pressures didn't equal a damn thing.

NY is gonna regret that one soon.

We let ov go so we could have him count for our comp picks. Picking up a better system fit with something to prove for a lot less money was just a bonus

Cameron has had one good season in the NFL and that's it. So far that season is proving to be an anomaly.

Mario Williams > Olivier Vernon. I don't care that he's 31.

Despite whatever contracts we have, all I know is we have $16M in cap space and that's what really matters.

The one good thing about the old pass rushers thing is at least they had a plan there. That's why they hedged their bets with jones and branch. Plus Fede has shown to be at least serviceable there. While I think branch is mainly useless, those other guys can step in and and not embarrass us off the edge. Besides, wake should only by in there on 3rd downs anyways.

1. suh is over rated. should have stayed in Detroit. doesn't make team better. team defense got worst since he came here.
2. thill17 over rated and over paid. he is 12 million dollar qb just like ryan of jets. avg at best.
3. if nfl team are willing pay u get your money.
