Forget talk that the Dolphins need an accomplished deep threat. General Manager Jeff Ireland insists they have one in Clyde Gates, who had only two catches for 19 yards as a rookie.

“You are really going to see Clyde Gates’ future starting this season. He has a great future,” Ireland said. “With his background, he wasn’t going to come in Week 1 and blow everybody away. He has to learn to be a better pro, a better worker and more flexible in the offense. But I have high regard for him. The only thing I was discouraged about was not getting him more opportunities last year.”

5 years from now, people will still be talking about Clyde's potential.

lol remember how he was going to tear it up as a rookie. One bit of sunshine, Mark Duper had 4 catches his rookie season so who knows but Clyde did not look good in limited ops last year
