It wasn't.

Read my post from another thread:

On Sports Extra (Channel 7 News; Miami), Drew Rosenhaus called it a "one year deal" repeatedly. So, it's rent-a-Stallworth. He's going to be released before Feb. 28, 2008 when he's due what, $8 million?

In other words, he chose New England to catch passes from Brady & hit the market again next year.. obviously, with the hopes to better 38 catches, 725 yards, & 5 TD's. I think he can easily break the 1,000+ yards century with the best QB in football passing it to him. He's without question their #1 WR. Smart, smart move. He'll only be 27-years old come next year's free agent period.

Stallworth won't even see 90% of that money.

It's basically a 1-year contract so that he can play with Tom Brady, and improve his stock for free agency next year. He's got a HUGE bonus due Feb. 28, 2008 - NE isn't paying that unless he turns into a Pro Bowler.

LOL yeah not the money. Hey Donte didn't you say Miami was you preferred place to go. What a loser

good work... thanks for providing the clip. I was swamped with reading for law school, and I completely missed the show. I def appreciate it!

I know about he reality of it being a one year deal...BUT please...IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY!

gotta agree with Drew that the pat's are looking super again..
But, I've seen all star teams fail before...remember Sula's last team...
But on paper, the Pat's look like the division darlings again..

Just hope we get a O that can keep us in the game..our QB's situation is causing some problems with recruiting, and I hate that.

So it is about the money then... If it wasn't boosting stock wouldn't matter

actually, i believe NFL Network was speculating that it was his top choice. I don't remember reading or hearing Donte say it

It sounded like Mare has offers waiting on him.

No, the NFL Network said that.

& call the guy a loser, but he has a great chance at a ring this year.
