1. Houston- Reggie Bush, RB, USC- they already have a good young QB in Carr, and with Bush’s talent and ability to make an immediate impact this is a no-brainer. They could look to trade this pick and take D’Brickashaw Ferguson, but if not Bush is their guy.
2. New Orleans-Matt Lienart, QB, USC- They need something to get excited about in NO. Lienart is the guy for the job.
3. Tennessee – Vince Young, QB, Texas- Young will get a chance to learn under a great tutor in McNair. He might have more upside than anyone in the draft. His size, athleticism, arm strength and accuracy are something that we may have never seen before.
4. New York Jets –D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia- Ferguson is an absolute monster at LT. He dominated the competition at the Senior Bowl and solidified his position as a top 4 pick. He might be the best player in the draft.
5. Green Bay-A.J. Hawk, OLB, Ohio St.- Had he come out last year he would have been the top LB taken then too. He is dominating OLB that can take over a game. It will be a tough choice however between him and Mario Williams.
6. Oakland- Mario Williams, DE, N.C. State- Probably by far the best player on the board. He could probably be a top 3 pick in a weaker draft. Top flight DE.
7. San Francisco-Michael Huff, DB, Texas- I absolutely love this guy. He could be a CB or S and will be dominant at either spot. Great leadership, ball hawking skills, and a great tackler.
8. Buffalo- Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon- This guy is a load. He is strong enough to take on a double team and quick enough to rush the passer.
9. Detroit- Winston Justice, OT, USC- I’m guessing the WR trend stops this year. They could look at a QB, but my money is on a franchise tackle in Justice. He was a RT in college but could probably switch to LT if he had to.
10. Arizona- DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis-They could also look at Cutler, but I think they’ll give Warner and McCown another chance. Williams is a super talented RB that had no help in college and still led the NCAA in yards. He probably would have been in the running for top RB last year had he come out.
11. St. Louis- Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland- Scott Linehan will be salivating about how much better this guy could make his already powerful offense. Davis is a stud TE who some say is a better prospect than Kellen Winslow was a couple years ago.
12. Cleveland-Chad Greenway, OLB, Iowa- He also could have been the top LB taken last year had he come out. Crennel will love to get his hands on this kid.
13. Baltimore- Lendale White, RB, USC- This pick depends on what happens with Jamal Lewis. I think his time in Baltimore is over and rather than paying a fortune for James or Green they take a talented young back in White.
14. Philadelphia-Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio State- Philadelphia needs a WR badly and Holmes is the best in a very weak class.
15. Atlanta- Jimmy Williams, DB, Virginia Tech-Williams has great size for a CB and could team with Hall for a very tough secondary for a long time.
16. Miami- Jay Cutler, QB, Vanderbilt- There is a good chance he won’t be here for Miami, but if he is he is the ideal pick for the Dolphins. Saban has stressed the need for a franchise QB that they haven’t had since #13 retired and Cutler gives them that. He has an absolute rifle for a right arm as well as good size and athleticism.
17. Minnesota- Laurence Maroney, RB, Minnesota- Try and try again. With a lot of good, but not great RB’s they take a guy who could be a great one.
18. Dallas-Marcus McNeil, OT, Auburn- Dallas needs help on the offensive line bad and this is a guy that can really help that. He has unbelievable size at 6-9, 338 and didn’t let up a sack in his college career.
19. San Diego- Chad Jackson, WR, Florida- Right now this might seem like a reach, but I think this kid will shoot up the draft boards after his workouts. Has great speed and hands and would really help out the Charger passing attack.
20. Kansas City- Ashton Youboty, DB, Ohio State- They could probably use a WR, but this draft is weak at WR and this is probably too high for Hagans or Moss. Youboty is a very good corner and will help take some pressure off of Surtain.
21. New England- Ty Hill, DB, Clemson- They need help in their secondary bad and Hill is a guy who is climbing up the draft boards with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl practices.
22. Denver (f/Washington)- Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State- He probably won’t be here, but if he is Denver will be very happy. The former Browns D-line was solid, but Hali is a monster and would be an absolute steal here.
23. Tampa Bay- DeMico Ryans, OLB, Alabama- Another steal that may not be here, but this is a very strong LB draft and Ryans could slip.
24. Cincinnati- Broderick Bunkley, DT, Florida State- Doesn’t really get a lot of pub, but is a very talented defensive lineman that Marvin Lewis could really work with.
25. New York Giants-Antonio Cromartie, DB, Florida State- He has the talent to be an elite CB in the league, but question marks about his knee injury that kept him out the entire 2005 season will drop him down a bit. But he is an ideal CB with rare size and speed. If his knee checks out in workouts he could go a lot higher.
26. Chicago- Leonard Pope, TE, Georgia- Pope will really help out whichever young QB starts for the Bears next year by giving him a safety valve and blocking.
27. Carolina- Dominique Byrd, TE, USC- He really helped his stock at the Senior Bowl and will add a new dynamic into the Panthers’ offense.
28. Jacksonville- Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College- Jacksonville could really use a CB, but all the good ones are taken. They could reach a bit for one, but I think they will just wait until later. Kiwanuka’s stock really dropped at the Senior Bowl when he got dominated by Ferguson and then got injured. But who wouldn’t get dominated by Ferguson, and he is still a very good DE and could be a steal here.
29. Denver- Sinorice Moss, WR, Miami- Denver doesn’t really have any glaring needs so they take a guy who could really be a playmaker on offense. Moss is very undersized, but Steve Smith proved that size is not an object especially with the new rules. Moss was under utilized at Miami and has incredible speed and great hands
30. Indianapolis- Max Jean-Gilles, OG, Georgia- It looks like James is leaving, but there really isn’t a RB worthy of this pick so they take a guy who can help give Manning some protection. If Thornton leaves they could take a LB (Simms or Carpenter).
31. Seattle- Ernie Simms, OLB, Florida State- Simms is a bit undersized, but that’s what people said about Lofa Tatupu and look how he did this year. Simms would team with Tatupu for a very good LB combo for years to come.
32. Pittsburgh – Bobby Carpenter, OLB, Ohio State- Pittsburgh doesn’t really have too many holes unless Randal-El leaves. If that happens they may take a look at Derek Hagan, but as it stands they take a good OLB to add some depth to their talented LB corps.

Thoughts?

Good mock, no big surprises. Good common sense though.
Are you sure that the Panthers wouldn't take Marcedes Lewis from UCLA before Dominique Byrd? I think the Panthers would definitely take Lewis before Byrd.

Yeah it was a toss up between the two, but like he just said Byrd is the hot name now after his Senior Bowl.
