So today Hartline had 7 catches, Landry had 4, Wallace had 3, and four others had 2 each. It seems today Miami made a concerted effort NOT to focus exclusively on Wallace for the first time this season which is why I belive the offense looked so much better. Thoughts??

That and his athletics running with the ball made the difference

Yea I thought this was great, I loved seeing clay back involved but I suspect that just means his knee is finally feeling better. I'm convinced Clay is key to opening up the entire offence

Definitely, Tannehill excels when he is able to pick his targets instead of trying to run the offense through Wallace

Yes! Nothing wrong with wanting Wallace to be a big part of the offense and get him involved....but it sure seemed we were locking in on him these last two weeks. They opened it up today and used the middle of the field more. Both Clay and Simms looked good overall. Between that and RT running the ball gave the Raiders "D" a lot to worry about.

I noticed that fairly quickly in the game. Dolphins weren't trying to run the passing offense exclusively through Wallace and the results were positive. Wallace was still involved in the game through out and still made an impact with a very determined run-after-catch for a TD...and if Clay would have held his block longer Wallace would have had a big run on the reverse.

Hartline also did a good job of slipping some tackles and getting some YAC for a change. He also caught a deep pass that was nearly identical to the one he let go right through his hands last week against KC late.

Lazor called a better game this week than last but I still would like to see us run the ball a little more and not just in garbage time. Hopefully after the bye Moreno will be back, Pouncey will be back and the offense can really start running some screens and we can get some more runs on the outside with Pouncey pulling. Right now most of our runs are between the tackles off of zone read.

Oh and kudos to Dallas Thomas who actually played a decent game. He wasn't the train wreck I was expecting.

I like what Clay can bring to this offense but being the #1 tight end, his height is a hinderance and it showed today.

He had two hands on the ball. Great play be the defender but Clay needs to pull that pass in. If he was 6'5" would have been an easy jump ball for him.

Its my understanding that the spread system is designed to... spread the ball around, determine who has the hot hand, then run the O through them for for the day.

Wash St last night, for example, kept going to Cracroft (WR) on third down. Mike Leach accurately deduced that was the flaw in the Utes scheme. Utah did not/would not/could not adapt and as a result lost.. that and playing not to lose on offense.

Landry is a much better WR than a returner. I am glad we are getting him more and more involved.

Couldn't agree more. Wallace is really transforming into a much tougher player, but forcing it to him is the source of an awful lot of stalled drives.

Did Lazor make comments saying that the offense was being run thru Wallace?
