Hey guys,

I just bought a pair of tickets for the Saints game in October and this will be my first trip to see the Phins in Miami! :woot: So I just have a few questions for you who are more familiar with the area...

First off, I'll be flying out of Cleveland (probably). I'm a Senior in College, so I don't have a ton of money to throw around for airline tickets and hotels. Any recommendations? What hotels are close to the stadium that are not too expensive?

Would it be easy to get transportation to the stadium? What area would be the best for me to look in to?

Thanks guys!

Fly into Ft Lauderdale and stay in a small town named Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. IMO, most of the places further south and near the stadium are dumpy.

FLL is the cheaper and more convenient airport. Everytime I go I just rent a car for the weekend. I usually stay somewhere in either Hollywood, FLL or North Miami Beach. The stadium isn't real real close but it's not hard to get to (it's just off Ives Dairy Rd which is right off one of the main roads in Florida).

I booked my flight using 'Bill Me Later', it's like a credit card but it's online only so I have a few months to pay it off.

Enjoy friend! :hump:

do not stay at the sports hotel it is literally a crack house its the most disgusting plce ive ever seen

Yeah you definitely want to stay away from the area immediately surrounding the stadium. People talk about how the Orange Bowl was located in a ghetto, but Joe Robbie is really in the hood.

Flying into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is normally cheaper (though not always; I advise you to check Orbitz or Expedia and compare rates to FLL and Miami). FLL is about 15-20 minutes north of the stadium, while MIA is about the same driving time towards the south.

As a proud resident of Miami, I may be a little biased in advising you to stay in Miami. I love this city and there are a ton of things to do here (not the least of which is chilling on South Beach and watching the finest ladies in the world). Fort Lauderdale is nice too, but I prefer South Beach to Las Olas any day (although I must admit the Hard Rock in Hollywood is a great place to frequent on a Saturday night) and Miami is altogether much more vibrant and cosmopolitan than Broward.

For a college student, Coconut Grove is a pretty damn good place to hang out on weekend nights. It doesn't have the glamour of South Beach, but it's much kinder to the wallet (plus, the girls we have at UM are pretty top-notch).

Hope this helps and enjoy your trip hermano!

I started going to a game a year 3 years ago. Flying JET BLUE safe cheap tv on the plane. Hotel. I have 4 kids so money is tight too. Forget south beach, its good to see once but not practical for the price. For about $150 a night because its off season I stay at the fort lauderdale hilton beach resort. can't beat it. check it out online. If you splitting everything with someone else you are getting a 5 star hotel for about 70-75 bucks each a night. its only 15-20 minutes from the stadium and a half hour from south beach...any other questions feel free to ask

Southwest Airlines is a good value usually out of Cleveland. They have lots of places to fly into in Florida
