There is no secret to the fact that Tony Sparano's choice for starting quarteback of the Miami Dolphins was and stil is Chad Henne. It is Bill Parcells who headed the movement to bring in Chad Pennington when Coach Sparano already had his starter pienciled in. If you look at some interviews that took place in August, Tony Sparano told reporters despite what everyone thinks, it is not a sure thing that Pennington will be our starting QB. I just hope Parcells can let Sparano make this call, I know he wants Henne out there, he did from the start. The guys on the team really like Henne, he does not hang recievers out to dry with floaters but instead rifles the ball in there before the defender has a chance to take their head off, Hagan and ginn will relish if this change is made. This team's problem is the field is way too short , defenses will totally disreguard the deep area of the field because Pennington can't get it there, this hurts the running game. It truly is a no brainer but it's going to be hard to override Parcells decision . this could be a very long season for the Phins.

Henne looked great today, he actually LED us to a TD.

hahahahahahah

Parcells decision is final. Sparano does not make the personnel decisions, I assure you. thats why he was handpicked for the job. Cause he'll listen obediently. Chad P. was Parcells choice to start, not sparano.

And you can rest assured, when Henne does start his first game, it'll be parcells' call.

Give Sparano some scissors so he can cut off them puppet strings off him! We need to drive that dictator of a VP in Bill Parcells out of the year so Sparano can make decisions like this one. In 3 minutes he got half the yards Pennington had the whole game !

I dont think Sparano had anybody "penciled in" as the starting QB, as all of them were mediocre and inconsistent, before Penny came in and did well in preseason games. He definitely won the starting QB job fair and square.

Penny is not getting alot of help out there. The lack of a running game is hurting our offense more than anything else right now.

HOWEVER, at this point, if I were the coach I'd start thinking about playing Henne more. I'd let Penny play again next week at New England, then use the Bye week to prep Henne, and play him in game 4.

This thread is ridiculous. Sparano makes the calls, and it would be crazy to hand the keys to a rookie this early. I am very glad that he got some real game experience. He is one step closer to starting, but the kid is not ready yet. He will play if Chad P is hurt, but he will not start.

Pennington's arm is pretty pathetic. He does hinder our offense because he can't throw it deep. He puts no fear or even concern into opposing defenses because they know he has a weak arm.

Sparano loves Henne! He rides him harder than any of the other guys because he really wants him to succeed, Film does'nt lie, Henne has a rifle for an arm and Pennington has a pea shooter and the recievers are afraid to go after the ball because the ball takes too long to ghet there, which gives defensive players more time to lay a big hit on the Dolphin recievers or break up the pass like they did on alot of occasions . Today, you need to have good velocity on your passes and you need to have the capability at any moment to stretch the field, the great QB's have this, Pennington has a good head on his shoulder but not a good arm.

Just watching that one particular pass that Henne threw to Hagan told the entire story. Pennington would never have completed that one because the throw required a lot of zip and Henne threaded the ball between 2 defenders. If Pennington tried that pass it would've been either batted away or intercepted. That is the difference.

I think thats a ridiculos comment, that he will play if Pennington gets hurt, what if Penninton gets knocked out for the year in the 1st quarter next week? do we go after a veteran qb? so Henne gets more time? Why not spare Pennington from any injuries and give Henne the ball, and how does anyone know if he is ready or not , the kid needs a chance to show it! i think he gave all you doubters a sneak peak today!

Can someone refresh my memory how the whole Romo thing went in Dallas, was romo or Bledsoe Parcells man ? how did Romo get the job? by injury or performance?
