Star Buys $3.4M Estate From NFL Player

Keeping the house in "The U" football family!

Beautiful estate in SW Ranches.. must be a neighbor of the Noodle. Maybe Carey's anticipating a reworked contract and/or wants to live on the ocean, Personally, I wouldn't miss Vernon if he hits the road so long as we've upgraded.

Wow, when I see photos of a house like that, I am struck by the fact that a guy only needs to be really good at standing up and pushing someone to make the kind of dough to afford it, yet most teachers, firefighters, policemen, etc. can't even afford a house a quarter of that size.

I for 1 will miss Carey if he goes.Hes a solid player and versatile.

That is 1 nice house though.

Usually that someone they are pushing is a 6'0-6'3 270-330 lb genetic freak. It's called supply and demand, there's plenty of people who can be a teacher, firefighter, or policeman. There isn't many people in the world who can play on the offensive line with the same effectiveness as Vernon Carey, regardless of what jokes you want to make.

I understand it, but it still sounds dumb as hell when you consider all they have to do is push someone for 60 minutes a game for 16 weeks a year. If football didn't exist, many of these same people would likely only be able get jobs as construction workers.

Didn't this deal go down like a year ago?

I agree with you, but the NFL generates a lot of money and i think these guys are all the nuts and bolts that make the machine go. They should receive their compensation based on the revenue it is creating. It's kind of why i sided with the players during the lockout, but that is water under the bridge now.
