Stark and McCain not in London

So looks like Chris McCain's "personal absence" may be death in family.

I feel terrible for him. I am glad at the same time because we have heard about all the skeletons in his past and I would love to see him exercise those demons. Most were thinking the worst.

He doesn't have a dead man in his history like Jimmy Wilson. He has mouthing off to his coaches in his history. That's not a great thing to have on your resume, but let's not act like the guy has some horrible past lurking back there.

I cheer for a guy like McCain that might have figured life out.

Yes. Jimmy Wilson was involved in what was described above.

What's going on with McCain?

I like to think I know as much as anyone about the Dolphins, but this is the first I've heard of this.

Was this pre-college?

During college. I believe he spent some time in jail and was acquitted

The Dolphins' fourth game of the season was the one the team's Pro Bowl center had circled on his calendar, but it appears the Dolphins' medical staff won't clear Pouncey to play in his second straight game since returning to practices.

Pouncey, who has started 46 games in his four NFL seasons, is certain he won't play against Oakland. Samson Satele continues to work as the Dolphins' starting center and Pouncey spent all week working as the scout team center, helping the defense get prepared for the Raiders.

However, his participation continues to be limited.

"I feel great. I'm playing in our next game," Pouncey told the Sun-Sentinel. "You can only fight it so much. I pushed [to not be on the PUP], but there's only so much you can do. I don't want to be a distraction."

As long as he doesn't suffer a setback Pouncey is convinced he'll making his 2014 debut in the Oct. 12 home game against the Green Bay Packers, which comes after next week's bye.

That means he'll have practiced for four weeks before being cleared to play in a game.
