I don't understand why they don't just declare him the starter give him all the first team reps and let him go.....we got nothing to lose, he has looked the best so far and he needs time to gel with everyone. Let Pennington be the primary backup and "mentor" and if Henne struggles after 4 games then think about making a change. It's time to make a desicion and it looks like the future is Henne so let him get a lot of work!! Leave your comments and let me knw what you think and as always go Fins!!!

To start simple, I'd like to see Pennington light up his old team. I'm pretty sure that's why he was so open to come here.

What's not to understand, the front office does not want to throw Henne to the wolves like the last regime did to Beck. The results would be the same and everyone here would start saying Henne sucks, just we need.

Because the percentages for success are so slim. For every Aikman story, there are 100's of stories of rookie QB's who's careers are cut short because they were rushed on to the Field. We don't have a very good team right now ala the Steelers with Big Ben his rookie season. You are just setting him up for failure.

if its one thing you NEVER do,its yank a QB from the starting role....thats like running a chainsaw right through their confidence...

Let Chad Henne back up Chad Pennington this year, then next year have a competition aginst them both, cause Beck has just solidified he isn't our QB of the future....

Yeah, that's it. Not the 11.5 bananas no other team was going to match.

whatever man . . . from ONE preseason game he "solidified" that huh? Yea I bet you were one of the guys that were HAPPY with Fiedler and agreed with never addressing QB in the draft to begi.n with

Beck was a 2nd round pick just last year . . . and a LOT of teams liked him, and he looked IMO even BETTER in his preseason debut than Henne did . . . and you don't want to include in a QB competition because of one game where he managed the team against possibly the NFL's best defense? Gimme a break, take the hating into that other Beck Bash thread man.

The more talent at QB for competition . . the better, yea Beck hasn't been stellar like I hoped so far . . . but its wayyyyy to early to be giving up on him . . . Penn, Beck and Henne need to be the QB's this season. McCown is expendable IMO. It would be foolish to start Chad Henne . . . thats too much pressure . . .he only starts if injuries occurs . . . thats it.

Yea lets start him before he's ready like Cam did with Beck. :rolleyes2:

Can't wait to see Chad light up the Jets week 1 :hi5:

Until the receivers step up their game, it would not be wise to start a rookie QB atleast until he knows which receiver(s) he can consistently rely on. Too many forget that Dan Marino had Mark Duper, Duriel Harris, Nat Moore and Tony Nathan to help ease his way into the NFL.

Let's have a little patience when it comes to Chad Henne. We do not need to rush him just because we are frustrated with the QB play over the past decade.

Henne

I say start Henne from day one and not because I am all big on the guy as of yet. He has shown promise and from what I see and hear has been winning the QB comp up until "Noodle Arm" Pennington was signed. I say start him just like they did with Peyton Manning and lets find out right now if he is the man or not. Lets not sit him on the bench for 2 or 3 years and come to find out in 2011 that we need to start from square one again and draft another QB.

I was totally against signing Pennington simply because he adds no help for the future of the position. Veteran leadership is all he brings to the table and makes the other QB's pissed off because they know they dont have a shot in hell at starting now regardless how well they play this pre-season.

I wish they would have never signed him. I am all for starting Henne from day one.

Pennington was brought in to start, and Henne is probably going to sit most of this season (barring an injury) and learn from Pennington, then he'll probably take over next year.

It's a win-win situation.

i'm pretty sure it had something to do with the 12 mil

and i wouldnt want to see what he's got only to pull him after the first 4 games .. because after the bye week .. they dont have the easiest schedule .. whoever starts after that had better have had plenty of time to work with the first team or we're screwed

Manning had Marvin Harrison and Marshall Faulk as his playmakers. Who will Henne have outside of Ricky? Ronnie doesn't look to be ready...yet and the receivers have not stepped up their game.

Have Pennington start the season with Beck/McCown as the backup initially and let Henne carry the clipboard the first few weeks of the season, similar to what Shula did with Marino.

i want the starter to be the person who can win the job i dont want to give him the job i want him to win it
