Sparano said he will probably play his starters into the third quarter Saturday night against Tampa Bay, unless one side of the ball played an inordinate amount of time in the first half.

"I like to reheat them again at halftime and bring them into the third quarter and see how we do,'' he said.

This is the norm around the league for preseason game #3. If all goes well, this is the last time you will see the main starters before the New England game. They will get the Dallas game off.

Offensive starters should play 6 more quarters if you ask me. But we don't want to risk losing a player and becoming stoic or ineffective. :yawning sarcasm: (pun intended)

We've been very fortunate to remain relatively injury free this preseason. I'm crossing my fingers that we make it out with our starters in one piece.

After this bucs game, i think its safe to say our guys will sit out this 4th game.

I love the aggressive sparano, this is what we have been waiting for from tony.

i would like to see at least a drive or two in the dallas game
50/50 on that.

With a new offense and a lot of new faces you'd think they could use as much playing time as possible given the shortened preseason situation but as has been mentioned already, is it worth the risk for injuries?

It's probably an after the game decision depending on how the different units do.

I hope Henne stays healthy, and injury free...Oh wow, is this the first time I've ever said this? Go phins! (Henne too, haha)

I wouldn't. Think Long from last year. Hopefully get through the Buccaneers injury free and than sit the starters until the first real game.

You can't coach or play scared... yes, I know it's to prevent injury, but more time together would do good for the overall chemistry in the team, they haven't had much time to practice.

The Bucs will be highly motivated after getting their ***** handed to them by the Patriots last week. It's going to be tough to match their intensity (meaning, I don't think we will). The first series or so could be ugly.

They have a particularly talented defensive line that felt a little embarrassed about getting run so ragged by the Pats' tempo, so they'll be a real good test for our offensive line. If we can block them about as well we did the Panthers, that will be very heartening (though again, I don't expect this). They're really talented all over, actually. A very legit team, especially for a somewhat underpowered NFC.

Yea hopefully we get another good performance from the starters so we can get more positive threads on this bored. I think its going to be a good and exciting year. Most in part because of the agressive offense playcalls this year.

I'd bet we see the starters for at least one drive against Dallas... You have to remember that this is a very abbreviated off season.
