Newman is more solid, overall, than Spraghan but it remains to be seen how quickly he adapts to Capers/Saban's schemes. Spraghan did a good job finishing out the season when Jr. went out, but is suspect in the pass coverage area and a little weak in the blitz/pass rush areas. Newman is fairly solid all around, probably offering more in all three areas of responsibility of the OLB in Capers D. Spraghan came to us as a part time starter, Newman comes to us as a guy who's started for 6 years in the league. I'm not going to count on Berryman,Brooks or Dixon until after the SD, and even then, it may be a long shot for them to start the season out there but I'm sure will get the opportunity to work their way into the lineup, again if drafted.
