You heard it here first :) Everything I read about toledo cries LT... athletic good in space, former tight end... it all spells one thing and thats LT. I would be surprised if he wasn't given a chance to win the job. For all the bashers, imagine if he becomes our starting left tackle...lol
 
Put Burger in there and I could see it better. Seriously I mean it. Burger will start for us mark my words if not this year then next.

This guy has played in FIVE games as a Tackle in college. He was a tight end for most of his 4 years in college. NO WAY he will be an option, even as a backup, until at least a year of pro coaching.
 
Toledo is a project...He was a TE until his senior year then he moved to tackle. LJ Shelton will be the starting LT for a few years at least. I think Toledo and Alabi may be the bookend tackles for years to come, but not any time soon.
 
I think him starting the season is a bit of a reach. While he has the potential and the tools, I read he needs some time to develop. I think sometime throughout the season he'll start. As for opening day, I see it like this.

LT - Shelton/Toledo
LG - James
C - McKinney/Hadnot
RG - Carey
RT - Pearson/McIntosh

Alabi, I think, will get worked into the rotation a little more as well.
 
That's like throwing Wade Smith in at LT. Won't happen this year, But I love the kids talent for the future.
 
Calm down about this Toledo guy. I trust Saban, but I doubt he was drafted to start day one. Come on.

Where is my boy Burger? I'm telling you guys he will start for us at some point.

we have 4 tackles that could be starters on any team carey, shelton, mcintosh, and pearson...i think pearson and shelton will be tackles hadnot and james guards and wade smith at center

Hadnot will be a starter somewhere on the line, hopefully at center. He is one of the best 5 offensive lineman on the roster.
 
Offensive Line is a position you can grab a starter anywhere in the draft. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't NE play a undrafted left tackle last year against us who was a former TE? Did he not completely shutout jason taylor? Aim low and you will achieve nothing.
