With the less experience Sage, do you expect to see more action from our backfield??? Or does Linehan stick with his pass heavy tendency???

It's obvious that he's not afraid to let Sage air it out (Sage stats: 1-1, 77yds, 1td). However, over the course of the game, I expect to see a shift towards offensive balance (which is, IMO, what our team needs).

That being said, here are my statistical predictions:

Sage: 16-32, 192yds, 0td, 1 int <---maybe 2 completions for more that 20 yds
Ronnie: 23 carries for 119yds 2td
Ricky: 14 carries for 64yds 1td

Miami wins: 27-13

I really think so. I think that since Lienhan's buddy isn't starting a QB, Lienhan will call alot more run plays then he usally does. I would expect for us to run about 40 times and throw about 25 times. It would be interesting to see what will happen though.

Hopefully... As much as I wanted to have Sage get a start... I DO NOT want him to be airing it out... lets keep the ball on the ground and let Sage just manage the game instead of trying to win it...

Yeah, the only shame is that we should have been running the ball with Gus Frerotte at QB, but now we're going to be running more because we have Sage Rosenfels at QB.

It will be a good thing, and if my theories are right, the offense will look better with Sage at QB mainly because we'll be running the ball more not necessarily because Sage is performing better than Gus. Not that I believe it's difficult to perform better than Gus, but I think we're relatively safe with Sage at QB because of the fact we'll be running more. Hopefully Saban will be impressed with the results enough to keep him in at QB.

those predictions are pretty reasonable, but turthfully i think ricky gets one td and ronnie also only gets one, that other td shifts over to sage throwing to mcmike or chambers, i still think sage throws that pic but i agree with all the rest of it

does sage start with a bomb again?

LOL did you read how Patrick Surtain and Sammy Knight were joking that if Sage got in the game against them the first thing he'd do is throw a huge bomb to Chambers?

They knew it was coming, and we completed it anyway. That's pretty funny. Great adjustment by Chambers on that play, poor adjustments by the defenders.

Three things:

1. Cleveland tends to allow QBs to complete about 2/3rds of their passes. Sage is not a terribly accurate passer from a percentage standpoint, never has been, but I still think he'll complete 60% against the Browns.

2. Clevelend's D tends to keep everything in front of them. Plus, we speculate that Sage's presence will mean more R&R. So, a 23 attempt, 160 yard day is not out of the question for Sage.

3. Cleveland's D tends to give up a touchdown a game pretty consistently. The only teams that have not scored a passing TD against them were Indy and Detroit. Indy was an aberration, IMO, and Jeff Garcia actually scored a rushing TD against them. The trends say Sage will toss a TD. Given thier 7 interceptions in 9 games, the trends also say that Sage will toss an INT. And, given their 10 sacks on the year, they would probably not sack Gus Frerotte once, but I believe Sage will be sacked twice given his relative inexperience in live fire this year.

As much as I want to say 300 yards and 3 TDs, I'm going with 14 of 23 for 160 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, and 2 sacks. Whether we win or lose is up to whether or not we get commited and rolling with the ground game.

I really hope so.. Utilizing R&R to their fullest extent = wins imo.

Just another thought... Linehan thinks that Cleveland will focus on the run game... therefore thinks he'll open up the "aerial INsult" on them; thus leaving us with another "17-40, 120yd" type game.

I just hope he doesn't try to over analyze the game plan... POUND IT DOWN THERE LITTLE PUPPY THROATS!!!

With Gus Frerotte in, that's what Scott would do. With Sage in, he'll tank the game plan down to pound-and-punt football.

We will run the ball more but I still think he will air it out. Linehan is not out to protect Gus as much as everyone thinks he just wants to look like a great OC so he will still throw long hoping for the big play to happen.

I think so too. I thought they would of ran alot vs. Cleveland anyways with Gus. I hope to see 20+ carries from both.
