So its finals time at college and instead of studying I decided to research something in regards to Chad Henne. Everyone on this forum knows that our receivers have been known to drop the ball ALOT this year so i was curious if I could calculate a more updated completion percentage for Henne if our recievers had not dropped so many passes. Now naturally dropped passes are a major part of the game but this was something more for curiousity sakes. Come to find out it is EXTREMELY hard to find stats on dropped passes. Anyways after sunday's game Chad Henne's completion percentage was 58.8. He has completed 194 passes out of 330 thrown. The only stats I could find on dropped passes dates back to december 4th were i found the following:
Ginn--8 dropped passes
Bess--2 dropped passes
Hartline---1

So using these values to re-calculate Hennes completion percentage you get: 62.1 %

Now this stat is not going to be fully accurate because obviously our WR have dropped passes since december 4th, but that would only make his completion percentage look that much higher.

Enjoy

We definetly need a wide reciever. No one on the team seems able too catch the deep ball. Every other team knows it.

17completions in a row is great, but without a gain over 25 yards we need a WR to get chunk yardage....and god forbid one of our recievers has a single Yard after Catch...The recievers are constantly falling down and catching it as opposed to catching slants on the run and making defenders miss...GINN yet again ran out of bounds on a run where he had a lot of room up the middle...

Good find. However dropped passes are part of the game. You could say,"Chad Pennington would have 80% if you didn't include dropped passes." To make it fair, I would look for, or compile a statistic on the average number of dropped passes per team, and then use that number compared to our number to give Henne stats that would show what his percentage would be like if he had a capable or average receiving group. You might also want to look for Tight Ends and Running backs also though. I know Fasano and Ricky have both dropped a few.

If it was possible to get the average number of drops per team or the number of drops for fasano ricky and everyone else, i would have done so. It took me hours to find the stats on Bess, Ginn, and Hartline alone. Im pretty positive that the other stats are not anywhere online

Percentage of dropped passes of the QB's attempts. As you can see we don't have the worst WR corps in the league. What's amazing is how well Aaron Rodgers is playing this year.
