Good article - outside of referencing Madden speed ratings. WTF.

I’m ready for this season to get here. I’m looking forward to shocking the league with a good start vs. that opening gauntlet of 4 games.
Games are rarely “must win” especially in September. Having said that, I feel we need an opening day win and then one of the next three.
2-2 with that stretch I think would be great.

Agreed on this. Win vs. the Patriots is vital…and should be achievable. I also think a win vs. the Ravens isn’t out of the question.

Usually I am very reserved in my expectations for this season, with so many new pieces and young players trying to take the next step or three. But once in a while I have a crazy vision that it does all come together and the Dolphins come out and start smoking every team they play in all phases of the game, popping for 5+ wins over projection.

I know that is unlikely if only because opponents adjust rapidly to any success, injuries happen and even elite teams experience the seemingly unavoidable "off" game. But there seems to br a greater chance of overachievement than disappointment (unless we see Bridgewater starting more than a game or 2 at most).

If the season starts with Tua on his back and no running game, all hope is lost.
We can either block people or everything else is an absolute waste.

I know that in that beginning stretch, many hope we can go at least 2-2 with a win against the Pats, and either the Ravens or the Bengals, but Miami has to at least find a way to split with the Bills this coming season.

Miami hopefully is in a mindset to get to the playoffs, but in the AFC, thar is easier said then done, if they want to reach the playoffs, they need to have a win the AFC East type mentality, and that means they have to beat the Bills, which in Miami gives them the best chance. Even if Miami does not win the East, by trying to compete, and stay with the Bills, that will Guarantee that Miami at least get enough wins to win a Wildcard.

Problem with the ravens is they had a lot of injuries last year and those guys are back. No new HC nor systems to learn. Is Lamar Jackson still holding out? That could help us.
I wonder if Tindall could be a guy who shuts down Lamar’s running.

Same Author for the Patriots. Someone make it make sense to me.

  • Week 1 at Miami Dolphins. The Patriots tended to struggle in Miami during the Tom Brady era, going 2-5 in his last seven starts there for the team, and that trend has continued, with New England going 0-2 in Miami since Brady left. The Dolphins, meanwhile, garnered a lot of offseason headlines, thanks to a flurry of moves. But would anybody be shocked if the Patriots came out and smoked them?”
