Passing attempts..........43
Rushing attempts..........18 (actually 14 if you don't count chambers(3) and frerotte(1))

So what happened to the rushing attack??? Yeah the bucs have the best rushing d, but i think just maybe, with two good running backs you would be able to wear them down. I am disappointed with the play call selection. I think we should have run the ball to control the clock and keep the defense off the field. Anyone think the rushing attempts should have been closer to 35-40?

I probably sound like a broken record with as many times that I mention our rushing attempts. So I won't keep going into detail, but we need 25+ to be successful in a game.

because your offense is a passing offense.

it doesnt matter that you got ricky back, or that you have a good young Rb, or who you are playing agenst.

and i dont see it changing any time soon.

yeh 25-30 attempts a game and i think we should let Sammy Morris run the ball to...it seems like everytime the guy gets the ball he gets a bunch of yards and gets us out of a hole...Ricky, Ronnie, and Sammy should be good i think

We don't need to be a running team. We need to be a balanced team.

I agree, but being balanced means making attempts at rushing, not avoiding it. It doesn't matter which defense we face.

We had to many 1-15 and 1-20 because of penalties...

I think that is a big reason we didn't run the ball much...

But here is why I don't really have a problem with the 18 carries number
1) Our Oline got their butts handed to them
2) R & R had 14 carries for 30 yards, 2.1 ypc
3) We were down 21 points going into the 4th quarter. So there is entire 1/4 of the game that we could not run the ball.
4) Penalties. The penalties force us to pass more. 1 & 15 , 1 & 20 it takes you out of those good running down and distances
5) We played a really good rush defense.

So I have no problem with the play calling. We missed 3 attempts down field that could have been big plays.

We had less penalties in this game then we did against Denver and Carolina. We had 30 and 33 rushes against those two teams. There's no way around it, we HAVE to run the ball more than 25+ times to be successful.

Hi, new to the board.

The offensive line is still not matching up well against opponent's defensive line. Very erratic play doesn't lend itself to a balance offense. We have several running backs that will eventually make a difference...but until the line improves our ability to score points will be relegated to Ferotte throwing strikes...not balls. BTW, Welker is an "A" player. It's obvious and we need to get him in the game more often. Ferotte is still a journeyman quarterback...a "B" player at best. We need to secure a top rated QB...what else is new. :)
