Stats on Dropped Passes

Was this updated? And Antonio Gates has that many drops?

Since there' some talk on this forum about dropped passes (of which the Seahawks had many last year), you all can find some ineteresting stats (inlcuding on Chambers) at this site.

I've seen that site before, and I have to say it's just not accurate. Last year they had Chambers with like 5-6 drops the whole year, when it was (painfully) obvious he had way more. N ot your fault for bringing it up, just my observation.

 And the reason y'all are doing better with drops is that you FINALLY got rid of the mortal cancer that is Koren Robinson.

Good luck tonight!

Didnt Koren Robinson almost singlehandedly win a game for the Vikings yesterday?

:smackhead Oh, yeah, I forgot we're judging entire careers by one game's performance this week. Sorry.

I think chambers had that many drops in one game.

Well he has had a rather nice little streak of games going as of late.. Looks like he might be turning it around.. Do you not believe people/players are capable of changing for the better?

 Skape, I really would like to take a generous outlook when it comes to this, but the truth is most people - by an overwhelming margin - don't change.

And that really holds in every phase of life, not just athletic performance. It usually takes a catastrophic life-event to get someone to change self-destructive behavior; it's possible that being let go from Seattle had that effect on Robinson; maybe it did. I hope so.

Just like I keep hoping for our guy Chambers to find a way to put 100% of his incredible ability and talent into his performance. As much as I want that, experience has taught me that I just shouldn't hold my breath, though.

Chambers had 5 in the NE game alone, 7 in the Cleveland game. And we're talking legitimate, can't-deny-it type drops.

Yeah, it is clear that the site is a wealth of misinformation. Chambers only has 5 drops so far this season? Funny, I thought that I saw him drop at least 3 yesterday alone. Well, according to Fox Sports, he dropped 4 passes on the day. This, according to the other site, would mean that he has only 1 other drop in all other games combined. Well, anyone who has actually watched the Phins this season can do the math and figure out that Chris has more drops than that.

This is part of the reason why I think it's unhealthy to judge a player's performance by stats alone; you can almost never trust a source unless it comes to something 100% quantifiable, like TD's or home runs.

The other part of the reason is that real football isn't fantasy foorball - stats doen't mean as much as what you can observe by watching the games. In real life empirical proof of effort, performance and heart is generally unavailable.

CC had a terrific day yesterday, so lets stop knocking him. If he played in Dans day he dare not drop passes as Dan would crucifie him, perhaps that is the differenceI have seen him dig at every leading WR we have had except Clayton, Duper.
Even Fryar , OJ mcDuffie and Co.

well if what you guys are saying is true, and the numbers are waaaaay lower then what they should be then he's still in about the same boat as some pretty damn good WR's.......Chad Johnson and Antonio Gates for starters!!! This just shows that even the best WR's drop passes, and Chambers hasn't dropped any more than any of the other big time WR's.
