Stay, go or restructure: CB Brice McCain
Experience: Six seasons
2015 stats: 39 tackles, one interception
2016 salary/cap charge: $2.5 million, $3.5 million cap
Analysis: McCain got off to a good start with a key interception in Miami’s Week 1 victory over the Washington Redskins. However, he never quite maintained that momentum the rest of the season. McCain was in and out of the starting lineup and had some nagging injuries. He was inconsistent playing both on the perimeter and in the nickel for Miami, and it appears McCain’s days could be numbered. The Dolphins likely will add cornerbacks to the mix next season and have a pair of rookie cornerbacks in Bobby McCain and Tony Lippett, who got valuable experience in the final weeks of the season.

One more from ESPN

Waste of money and a roster spot. Another bad player that unfortunately saw more playing time than he should have.

insta cut

though we have nothing else at corner so maybe worth keeping just to have someone around

Hit the bricks McCain. he doesn't make a ton, but just isn't worth. We need a total rebuild at CB- combo of free agents and draft, I'd bring in a minimum of 3 guys, depending on who we cut.

Let Bobby McCain learn to play the slot, he'll get better with experience. Our db's are a sorry mess

I would much rather see the other DB McCain and Lippet and they are less than 20 cents on the dollar. Also clears up some of the McCain confusion in name. :)

Totally agree. Lippett is raw as they come, but I'm also done with Jamar Taylor too, how much do we gain by just axing him too? I mean for a 2nd round pick? a million or so???

Also So Be, a possible suggestion for the future threads like this, add a poll! Then we could take a look at all of them in a consensus and see how the forum feels overall

Think he's solid in the slot. Bad signing from day 1, was clear he was going to be forced into working on the outside where he struggles. We're linked to Patrick Robinson last year and he had a nice year, able to play inside and out. No place for an inside only guy taking up a roster spot. Cheap, but a clear cut with Bobby McCain on board, and hopefully a new FS so Michael Thomas can fill in as depth there too.

Not worth a second thought imo. Just cut.

Jamar Taylor and Zack Bowman are worth considering for a switch to F'S, whichever one shows a feel for it. But Brice has no place on a team with aspirations.

Good idea Travis. I did that some time ago but forgot how. Can anyone refresh my memory?

Glad ESPN is doing this series with so little else to talk about.

Interesting. Taylor does have talent and can tackle.

They released Bowman..and they never should have tried to force McCain as a boundary corner which was brought up multiple times during the season.

Slot corner playing out of position on the boundary since Jamar Taylor ****ing sucks at his job.

I say keep, although Bobby McCain may make him expendable.

Maybe he needs an extension, because it was the coaching. Just like Tana hell

Sorry, who is this Tana Hell you speak of?

OH! Was that another lame attempt to change Tannehill's name to show your disdain for him? Clever!
