I do not know if I agree with the article. I think, with Misi, his endurance has been helped by the competition these coaching staffs have presented him. Being mediocre is not going to help when they finally get some talent. I, for one, think we can do a whole lot better.

Quick -- of the various players the Miami Dolphins started at the three linebacker spots in 2015, which one was ranked among the NFL's top 20 at his position by Pro Football Focus ? That's right: Koa Misi.
Today, with fellow 2010 draftee, strong safety Reshad Jones, Misi is the longest tenured player on the Dolphin defense, and, as has been the case just about every year since he arrived in the NFL, speculation abounds that he might be replaced. There is a faction of fans who believe 2013 first round pick Dion Jordan will supplant Misi at the strong side linebacker position this Fall. Don't count on it. While there are better linebackers out there, until the Dolphins find one, they appear content to let Koa Misi fight the good fight.

You can do a lot worse than him. He's strong as a bull at POA, and he's not an awful athlete. His instincts aren't there, but as long as he's coming forward he's slightly above average

If Misi is underrated, then Channing Crowder was a superstar.

He's the sort of guy that has pics of the owner's wife. How else do you explain him not being replaced despite not being great at anything?

See this is why he's underrated. People think he's awful when he's decidedly average.

I would call any part of last year's LB Corp "underrated."

Next to Jason Trusnik and Phillip Wheeler almost anybody can look like a stud. Misi has been solid- never a huge problem or huge help. Every team will have those kinds of guys.

Is it bad to want to have a LB rated higher than top 20 at his position?

Misi is a solid LB who is scheme and position diverse, the dude is never out of position, he's not fast, but pretty strong, he's avg overall, but still the best LB we've had since Dansby and Burnett.

With the LB we've been rolling out there, I'm just not sure how people can complain about Misi.

I never see him making any amazing plays, but I don't recall seeing him missing a lot of tackles or getting picked on in coverage often. Would be nice to see him make an outstanding play here and there. Maybe some consistency being on the field in one position will benefit him, as long as he's here.

Misi never knocks anyone backwards. The RB will gain 3 yards and drag him for a couple. That's why we're one of the lowest rated D's during his tenure. He has no instinct because he doesn't seem to study film much and he usually takes the wrong angles to the ball.

Misi is as mediocre as they come, if that. Add in the fact that he's a turdbucket off the field too. Unfortunately, we have higher priorities when it comes to upgrading.
