I hear alot of people talking about Travis Daniels being the steal of the draft. I just dont see it. Lets go back to last years 4th round pick, Will Poole. He was a first round talent that dropped to us in the 4th round. Alot of people had him going in the first round on there pre-draft boards. Now lets look at Travis D. I dont think i anybody had him going higher than the 4th round. He was a 4th round talent that went in the 4th round. The reason why he looked decent in camp is because its the same defense he played in college. If we would have got Corey Webster in the 4th,that would have been a steal. I dont think so. Will Poole's stats were almost identical to Sam Madison stats last year. The biggest difference was the Poole played in about half as many plays as Madison. So lets just stop the Travis Daniels steal of the draft talk. Can we?

haha do you got something against travis? and they are two different drafts, you can say poole was the steal of last years draft sure... but this year you can say travis... though id rather say crowder, even though he was a 3rd which isn't that low, hes displayed first round talent and already cracked our pretty deep LB core...

I don't think you understand the idea of "steal of the draft". Basically it is a player that is drafted later that should of been drafted higher as he became a more productive guy. Lets take a famous "steal of the draft", T. Davis. Terrell Davis should of been drafted higher than a 6th round because his productivity was higher than what is expected out of a 6th round pick.

since technically only one total NFL game has been played this year, its too early to tell who the steal of the draft is. He might not even be on the Miami roster.

i think crowder is gonna be the steal of this draft but dont hate..TD has done very well for a 4th round rookie CB

Were is this coming from? I really haven't heard that in a long time, now there is some " Crowder was the steal of the draft " talk happening every once in awhile. I tend to agree with that though.

Exactly!!

I have yet to hear anyone call Travis Daniels the steal of the draft. That is nonsense.

The games are being played for real starting now. Let's see how the rookies play when real bullets are flying. Time will tell who steps up and who screws up.

I'ld say Manny Wright - USC in the 5th. Provided he developes over the course of this season.

I don't think it matters what round you are picked in to determine if you were a steal. Teams had Tom Brady as a late round pick -- I believe he went in the 6th -- and he was obviously a steal. He would have been a steal even if he went in the 3rd and all the experts would have been saying that was a reach. What matters is how the guy plays and both Daniels and Crowder look like they could be steals for us.

I thought steal was getting a guy much lower than he was originally expected.
