I think Joey will have a big influence in the locker room. He's an aggressive personality and a leader. Those kind of things you just can't turn off.

I like what Hines Ward said in the article.
"I want to see if he's really going to trash talk us," Ward said. "You can't trash talk your boys, Joey. That's going to be an exciting game for both of us."

Lets hope he has this kind of influence. I don't think he will have quite the leadership roles that he had in Pitt. but he will be a very emotional leader on the field for miami. He is the kind of player who can get his D so fired up if they stuff a team the first possession, that they might not move the ball the rest of the half.
 
i think hes personality alone is going to make us number 1 in the D side of the ball. Crowder is the closest guy to his personality although its no where near it so hopefully he gets woulin' out too.

With Joey added to a defense already including JT and ZT, this season should be exciting. really exciting actually. at least that side of the ball. Im still worried about our weak offense, but thats the usual I guess.
 
I can't wait for Ben Roethlisberger to fall flat on his face. I have always thought that he sucked and that he he got a lot of credit for all those wins when in reality all he did was hand the ball off to Willie Parker and Jerome Bettis and then occasionally throw a decent ball to Hines Ward.....
 
the p-burg boys should ask about his kids.. his wife.. friendly stuff, make it hard for him to get riled up.
 
i am worried porter wont have that effect on our team though. he seems hesitant b/c he knows this ZT's and JT's team.

A real fear of mine is that he is sipping mai tai's and looking at palm trees,,,i've heard him say too many times that one of the reasons why he moved here was because of the laid back style,warm weather,so his family could enjoy themselves etc,,,,i've seen it too many times where our lifestyle and energy in miami effects the player.

The energy down here is not condusive to getting the best out of a player emotionally,,especially a player that gave everything he had to one franchise,,,,for him to reach that level of intensity over a period of time will be exceptional
 
Porter's a good football player, and I love the signing, but personally, I think his antics look ridiculous, kind of clownish.
 
Thats great... im sick of Pitt fans, press, coaches hating on Porter. Yeah, if JT hauled *** and left town I'd be mortified, but it's a business and I wouldn't hate on the heart of our squad (at least one of them) for making a decision for his family. ESPECIALLY if he brought us a ring!
